So what kind of plans does everybody have for this week and this weekend to help the time pass?

I have a test this week in Spanish and a lot to do for my job. Plus, I've been counting down to Friday b/c it will be the first time I get to see my fiance since he's started his training for his new job. It's been even rougher when I'm at home all alone.

This weekend we'll go to SA to see my mom. We're going to try out the fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot. I believe they have one in Houston. Anybody been there before? My mom says it's great and I can't wait!!! 😀

Appropriately, it says "Declined Interview".

My UTSW page also says "interviewed" There hasn't been any changes to this since I interviewed in December

Second thought: What happens when you shoot the part where the school names are? Is that good or bad? I'm not superstitious, but at this point I wouldn't risk incurring the bad karma!

I have wedding-date duty this weekend... 🙁 Aside from that, I think a little retail therapy is in order to soothe my weary nerves.

Fondue is the coolest! Be sure to take clothes specifically for this and then change (and burn them if possible) if you are going out afterwards cuz you'll smell like a big walking deep fat frier when you leave The Melting Pot. I went with some friends to some fondue restuarant in Dallas the night before my UTSW interview--and our waiter is going to be on American Idol! After some serious arm twisting, he sang for us at the table and he managed to rustle up his CD. I think he is actually due to be on tonight's episode. Look for William Blake the Fondue Waiter from Dallas!!!!!! [although we decided to call him Billy Blake all night because we were toasted and, plus, its just a lot catchier] Have fun...

Anyone remember the air traffic controller from airplane? (lloyd bridges: "I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue...." And that guy was only in suspense for a few hours! I don't think I'd try to give up any bad habits this week.

I'm going to Las Vegas for the weekend. My flight gets back at 5:40 am on Monday. After school and work, I'll probably sleep until 12:00 am and wait for 1:00 am (Eastern time) for the match to be posted. Just have to make it until Friday.....

What a coincidence...I just happen to live in Dallas and I was reading the Dallas Morning News and they had this little article about him being on American Idol tonight. I guess he forgot to mention that he was also a fondue waiter 🙂

Breath Alex, Breath! You interviewed well, now you just have to wait. I bet you a beer (or 2?) you got in. I was all calm and relaxed today until I came on to the thread, and now my BP is through the roof and I have a tremendous urge to hyperventilate... I need a cigarette. If only there was some way to successfully blackmail your #1 choice into letting you in. It's too bad that threatening to not attend if they don't let you in doesn't work. Anyone doing either the Galveston or Houston run this saturday?

All of this speculation is crazy. Does anyone else have the image of an obnoxious gift recipient stuck in their mind - shaking the box, turning it around, estimating the size and weight trying to guess whats inside? If we were already in medical school, we'd probably try to CT scan or ultrasound it too! Loosing my marbles here...

I haven't made a dent in my list of handguns I want to shoot in a while plus there's supposedly this great new indoor rifle range by LAX...maybe I'll grab my shooting buddies and go check that out to pass the time...

I tried shooting an Ar-15 once. That thing was heavy! Didn't even hit the target. I wound up shooting a cute .22 revolver and my friend's .45, two guns which I could actually control, rather than the darn AR-15. My bf just loved shooting it though!!! Boys... 🙄

Yep, not worth it. I have smoked for 13 years and finally decided to quit. I have been smoke free for 15 days, and it feels great. The Commit nicotine lozenge rocks.

On the other hand, UTKB, I know that UTSW loves pre-meds from UT-Austin. I heard from one interviewer that UT-Austion graduates do really well at SWMED.

NO! I have way worse stats than you. I got an Interview at Baylor I think due to a) the fact that I have a very interesting story, b) I did MMEP there (not URM though, I am Cuban), and c) I go to Rice and that might give me a slight advantage for interview. Point is, your stats are better than mine (much higher GPA and only 2 point lower MCAT), argh this waiting sucks. I thought maybe application recieved means they are saying you aren't in, but it could mean they recieved the validated, formal application from TMDSAS after the match? (I am just hoping, begging, trying to be optimistic!) Argh I hate this. Oh,and it did change today for person that asked.
