If I were a magic genie...

I would appear to every applicant and offer them $1000 for every day that they don't check their match results.

$1000 a night?! I'll wait until August!

It's Monday, January 31st, 10pm out here...just about the time I'd start drinking anway, so it works out nicely.

My fellow Texans, I have not contributed to this paranoia at all but as time gets closer I cannot help but feel like that annoying barfing emoticon . Not only am I counting down to the match but also to my thesis proposal on, guess what date.... you got it, Feb 1st. at 8am. Talk about double the fun 🙄 . Anyways, I cannot contribute to the good and wonderful A. Pink theory, since I did not interview at UTSW but I can refer back to the LMFU/validation date days:

Validation: nada!

WHOA. I leave for school today and when I come back, I have 20 minutes of reading to do. I am seriously going to laugh after the match is over and all these so called "theories" are disproven. Either way, after getting way too emotional last night (my bf suggested that I see a counselor), I have decided that I don't really care about WHERE I end up as much as I thought. Given my tendencies to FREAK OUT at very minor atypicalities/problems in my life, I truly think that I might fare better at UT-San Antonio or UTMB (more relaxed, easygoing environment). If I get into UTSW, that's great. It was meant to be. If I don't, maybe it will be better in the long run. I think that we should all adopt this type of attitude (still trying to convince myself), at least in the few days leading up to the match. If not, we'll all be drunk, depressed, and/or dead by the time February 1 rolls around.

For those of you who are interested, I did send in transcripts from the two classes I took last semester (graduated in December of 03). My GPA has remained at what it is since my very first semester of college (see below if you have to know). Therefore, no updates needed to be made. My status never changed (from what I know) from "Interviewed" on the UTSW page. At this point, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Pink's theory is probably right, and I don't expect to match at UTSW. Okay, I'm gonna go read some stuff for school now....thank goodness I have something to occupy myself until 12 AM on Feb. 1. Oh, and I think I might try to sleep from 10-12:30 on January 31 to avoid hitting the refresh button 1000 times from 11:45-12. 😱

AsiaDoc I feel your pain, the whole nervous breakdown pain that is. I for one have not been able to get a full nights rest. But worry not we will all go through this and look back at all these posts and laugh. As for the whole UTSW vs UTHSCSA, I hope you get into the latter (that's my numero uno), so I can be arround all of you wonderful people during the hard times of medschool.

JDOVEZ, I thought u didn't rank UTSW as your #1. If u didn't, I will start to doubt the theory that "application received" = acceptance. I personally think with your stats, you will match at your top choice school, whether it is UTSW or somethingelse.

I'm sorry to throw doubt to the wind, but I decided not to rank it first. Thanks for the kind words, but I think UTSW has some serious stats, so one never knows based solely on numbers.

Yesiree...it's an undergrad thesis that I wish I had never undertaken. I find that I'm not a person who can BS very well...as a result of my miserly way with words, my thesis is way too short but I've said everything I wanted to say. If it wasn't for this, I'd be cruising my way through this semester with no worries (other than what's coming up on Feb 1st). *sigh* senioritis is so nice. 😳

I didn't think we would make it to 5000, but we have already surpassed my estimate, and since we are playing Price is Right Rules, as soon as we hit 5000, my guess will be useless.
