I believe that they will send out an email to all the schools notiifying them of the change. That's the impression I got from the lady I spoke to on the phone. But it looks correct online now.

Are you still in Austin? Maybe because I'm in Dallas now I haven't received my App Profile via snail mail 🙁

Yeah, I'm in Austin, so their office is like one mile away. You'll get it real soon, probably tomorrow, since I think our apps were submitted on the same day.
 
I was processed 7/21 and recieved an interview at Houston on 8/27 as well..Hey Indy, I see you post over on Hornfans too. We need to talk. PM me on hornfans, or AIM me at Longhornanth. Good luck to yall HOOKEM
 
hey all u UT folks who have sub/ver/proc ur apps. have u checked ur app status at Baylor's website? if so, is everything complete? for me it says that they're missin my letters of rec.
anyone else have this problem?

I emailed Baylor this morning. My screen said that they hadn't received my LORs *or* my Paypal payment.

They responded that this information had just been processed today and would show up tomorrow morning. Hope that this helps.
 
I got processed today! Submitted 6/30 and Processed 7/28.

Question: How long did some of yall have to wait to hear about interviews?
 
I think I'm having the most absolute horriblest experience at this. First my GPA was wrong so it's lower than what my advisor said it was, then AACOMAS lost my transcripts so I had to resend them (which I found this out yesterday), then the HPAC review committee pushed my review date to Aug 25th which means that the schools won't get my LORs until Sept, and now TMDSAS sent me an email saying my personal statement "somehow" was deleted and I had to resend it (TODAY!!), which on a side note I see as both a disadvantage b/c now my application is going out this week and not before like I had thought, and an advantage b/c I revamped it since I sent it the first time and like the second better. Sorry for the runon sentence. So, I'll just be stuck in applicaton hell until Sept., or do schools actually send invites to applicants before they receive the LORs if I already completed and sent in my secondaries? Oh by the way, what up all my fellow Houstonians!

Finally got my app profile from TMDSAS via snail mail yesterday. But still waiting on interview invites!!

Same here. Was processed the same day as you (7/21) and got UT-H interview email today for 8/20 i-view. Looks like they are working through the stack of apps.

Hey everyone... just wanted to get on board with all of you. I was processed 7/21 and got my UT-H email on the 27th. I will be interviewing on August 27th. I can't believe this is already starting...

Don't call TCOM (you can check online and the person who processes the apps is really bogged down), UTH or UTMB (they coincide with TMDSAS Status).

They other schools confirmed my file was complete and ready to be reviewed by the adcom.

I guess it doesn't hurt to make sure your file is complete (i.e. secondary rec'd, TMDSAS, etc etc) Took each school a few minutes to look up my info.

Hey everyone...got a question for y'all. I just got a letter today telling me that I have an interview with UTMB on Aug 20th, which coincides with my UT-Houston interview. Should I call or email them to reschedule? And should I tell them that the reason is an interview at another school? Does it even matter?

I asked my boss about this the other day (he's on the adcomm at A&M) and he said the best way to handle it is to call both schools and see which is willing to move. He said some schools are a lot harder to deal with than others in this situation. But, this hasn't happened to me yet so advice from someone else is probably a good idea 🙂 Also, I don't see why telling them you have another interview would be a problem...but I'm certainly no expert. Congrats on the interviews and good luck!

if they are at significantly different times, you could make the drive

Thanks! I already confirmed my interview with UT-Houston so would it seem stupid for me to say, "uh sorry, I made a mistake"? On the other hand, on the UTMB letter it says in bold: Please keep in mind that UTMB does not routinely reschedule interviews. *sigh* Guess I should take my chances with UTMB?

tgerwuds: Fraid it's impossible for me to make interviews at two schools in one day. One interview day starts at 7:45 and the other at 9.
 
What tgerwuds suggested is impossible to do. I would try changing with UTMB, and just be honest and they should be willing to work with you. From last year, Tech and UTSW both had online options of selecting interview dates, from like two or three. I think this was more flexible with Tech than UTSW. Everything should be okay, just be happy your worries are positive!
 
I agree with .02, even though it the drive is only an hour and change, the interview day is not a short one (from what I have heard and read). So definitely talk to one of them about moving. As far as which one? Well thats another story. They should both know that it IS interview season and qualified candidates will have scheduling conflicts. Maybe it will work to your advantage...you never know. Like .02 said though, it is a GREAT problem to have. Considering not many people have interviews yet and you have two, just find a way to work around them....and CONGRATS ON BOTH INTERVIEWS!

On a seperate note, has anyone heard from TCOM yet? I got an interview invite and I am definitely a lower tier applicant. I'm just trying to figure out why I haven't heard of other people getting invites yet. BTW I was processed 7/14, heard from them 7/26, and haven't heard from anybody else yet. Plus TCOM was my last secondary to finish. Any help would be splendid!

Last year, I interviewed at TCOM, and they only interview like 8-10 applicants at a time, that is probably why you haven't heard a lot about people interviewing since others schools have a min of 25 to a max of (50-60).
 
Putting my two cents into the mix:

I would suggest rescheduling the UTH interview. They have TONS of interviews throughout the season and I'm sure that they would have no problem changing....

UTMB, OTOH, sounds kinda nasty.
 
just a note to UT students:
check to see if the HPO folks have actually sent out your LOR for amcas schools.
turns out they havent sent mine out at all, even though i told em too weeks ago and paid to do so. theyve only sent my tmdsas lor's out so far apparently.
 
yeah, they dont send them out immediately. i have a feeling that they send out letters to penn (for example) when enough students have also choosen to do so.
 
My experiences with the HPO have been good. There has usually been about an 8 day turn around on all my LOR requests from the time I requested to the time the school received the letter.

FYI - TMDSAS took about a day; Penn, Hopkins, Baylor, Wash U, all took about 8 days till the schools confirmed receipt.

Yeah, they are definitely nice and reasonable. Their advising is practically worthless for the most part, but Betsy at the front desk is very nice.

So here's the update on my little "problem." I emailed UTMB and they want to reschedule my interview for Aug 13th. I'm planning on retaking the MCAT, which is on the 14th...so I don't know if that's such a good idea. I then called UTH and they told me that they don't usually reschedule interviews. If they did, it would have to be on Jan 5th, which is the last day for interviews. Anybody else have experience with that? Are they just trying to discourage me from rescheduling?
Anyway, that's the FYI for those who might want to reschedule with UTH in the future.

Betsy is awesome; I think she practically knows me since I've been in there so many times. I applied to the eight Texas med schools, and called each school to make sure that they received my stuff; all of them had. So far, I have interviews at TCOM, A&M, and UT-Houston. I'm getting worried that I haven't received a letter from UTMB yet; I was processed on 7/16, and I know UTMB has all of my stuff. Grrrrrr I hate waiting....
