For those waitlisted at TWU, I am a current student in my first year and was actually waitlisted when I applied as well! I ended up getting accepted a day or two after being waitlisted. If they are doing it the same as last year, they will send acceptances as people decline their offers. Don’t give up hope it is definitely possible to get in even after being waitlisted!

Actually, University of Washington is my top choice. UTMB is my top choice for the state though. I felt more confident applying to schools in Texas and like I’d have a greater chance at getting into one of them, so this bums me out. Still waiting to hear from TTUHSC and USAHSC though.

That’s not an exaggeration, those are the only two schools I’ve met students from. You are going to get an amazing education at either!

As people start hearing back from other OT programs, there’s a lot of shifting around especially with the Texas schools since most of us applied to a few of the programs. After being waitlisted for both last year, my confidence took a huge hit. But it’s not the end of the world haha Don’t lose hope!!!

What made you choose UTMB over TWU if you dont mind me asking?
 
If you were waitlisted at UTMB- don’t give up hope! My good friend goes there rn and said that ~30 ppl from her class are from the waitlist. That’s almost half! That brought me a lot of comfort since I’m waitlisted too!

I was accepted into TWU Dallas, and the two deciding factors for me were location and student experiences/interactions at interviews. I personally didn’t like TWU Dallas since the school is like one building lol UMTB is more of a campus and I liked that vibe a lot better! When I interviewed at UTMB, we got to speak with current students and they really sold it for me! It made me really want to get into this program. Unfortunately I didn’t have that same feeling when I went to TWU. It may just have been the students I spoke too, but they’re both great schools either way!

I was wondering the same thing! I’m thinking we won’t find out anything until the 15th. Thinking about calling on Monday and seeing if they will provide an answer.

I heard they are closed for the break :/ they won’t open till spring classes start I believe, but maybe I’m wrong
 
I’m waitlisted at UTMB! Does anyone who is or knows a current student know around what time the waitlist first starts to budge? Thanks and congrats to everyone who was accepted this week!

I have no idea but I feel like when people hear back from tech, st Augustine and uthscsa! I know uthscsa is probably at the top of the list for a lot of people because there program is a doctorate that finishes a little faster than everyone else
 
I’m feeling so discouraged about my cycle so far. I was feeling great about interviews- I got four (TTUHSC, UTMB, LSU shreveport, and TWU)! I wasn’t able to do the TTUHSC interview because it conflicted with my UTMB interview (my first choice), and TTUHSC refused to reschedule... After my interviews I felt super confident. But I didn’t get in to TWU Denton, and I got waitlisted at UTMB 😓 I haven’t heard back from LSU but they only take 2 out of state students each cycle...

I’m praying so hard for UTMB. Has anyone heard about getting off the waitlist yet?
I’ve also applied to UTSAHSC, UTEP, and UTRGV but haven’t heard anything from any of them. Has anyone gotten into UTSAHSC or even gotten an interview yet? Just wondering if I’m missing something major there!

I had an interview with UTHSCSA on the 15th and they said there will be another round of interviews in January! I’m not sure if they’ve sent out invites for that one yet

That’s so great to hear! Thank you. They are waiting on some prerequisites from me (which I just finished and sent) so hopefully that’s why I did not get an interview!

I’ve already heard back from St Augustine they did their first round of interviews in like September. Idk about their waitlist though

Wishing all the best for you! I am also waitlisted for UTMB and it's my top choice so I am so nervous :,) I haven't heard anything about people getting off the waitlist yet but hopefully we will be able to know soon. I am thinking we will hear more in January

Good luck! They were missing a prerequisite from me at the time they gave acceptances (because Austin community college sucks and took forever to put final grades in!) So I am hopeful that’s the reason I was waitlisted and I’m near the top. No idea though haha
 
Hi guys! I was accepted into UTMB and am trying to accept the offer. I already said "accept" on MyStar and placed my deposit, but does anyone know what they mean by "please return the acceptance form by email to [email protected] by January 4, 2021"? Does that mean just reply to that email with your decision?
 
Has anyone that was waitlisted to TTUHSC receive a contingency agreement that you had to sign and return within 10days?

I honestly have loved it so far! There have been some bumps along the way because of COVID and us being their first OTD class, but with all things considered it has been pretty good. TWU is much cheaper than many schools which was a big plus for me, it’s close to home, and we have so much support from our faculty! Once you get into school they really don’t want you to fail and will help you in any way possible. I have no problem asking questions and I feel like they really care. I think that’s one of my favorite parts is just how much help and support they give us.

Thank you! I didn’t see it, haha. Yes, the status changed to that for me as well. And no, it never asked me to pay again. I would save your confirmation email stating that you paid and then call to make sure they received everything!

Same for me. Currently waitlisted for TWU Dallas too and those are the only 2 schools I applied to. Getting real anxious lol

I was offered an interview a while ago (wasn’t able to take it because it interfered with another interview I had). But Tech refused to reschedule with me and said they had offered me their very last interview time.

Sadly I think they may be done with interviews 😓😓😓 I can’t be 100% certain. That’s just based on what they said to me.
