Hi guys,
I matched at El Paso (in-state) and gotten into BU. I am conflicted on which one to choose, so any advice would be appreciated.
El Paso
Pros:
- Instate tuition
- Integrated curriculum
- Can learn medical Spanish in a class setting
- Low cost of living
- Exposure to a completely different patient population due to cultural differences (border town)
- great weather

Cons:
- not as reputable
- not as research oriented

BU
Pros:
- in Boston, close to Harvard and other excellent resources
- very reputable
- great research opportunities

Cons:
- high tuition, high cost of living
- long winters
- curriculum is not integrated

I would appreciate advice from anyone, but any current students please weigh in! Thank you!

If research is important to you, you're more likely to have good opportunities in BU. I'm pretty familiar with the research dept. in Paul Foster, and it's unfortunately quite limited at the moment. They are building new research facilities set to be completed in ~2years, but I still doubt you will have research opportunities as readily available when compared to BU.
