Hello Everyone,

I decided to start a thread for all of us April 18 MCATers. Please feel free to share in your thought, success and frustrations throughout this process here!

All the best!
Good LUCK to all of us! 😉

You guys are gonna go crazy doing this. I was doing the same thing for a while and realizing all these questions I got wrong, but now I'm gonna stop. The less you think about it, the quicker it will be May 19th.

This whole thing reminds me of an EK VR passage on code writing. It's gonna be a long road to May 19th.haha......

Alright, does anybody else keep having fluctuating mood swings about this test? I swear, I go up and down every thirty minutes. One minute I'm sure I got a 33+, next minute I think I got a 25 and need to get ready to retake. This is such an emotional roller coaster. I'm jealous of the GRE people who get their scores five mins after the test :meanie:

I've been feeling the same way. One minute I'm confident in getting a 36+, the next minute I'm convinced I got a 30-. Blarg.

It's ok... summer is almost here for me... Hopefully endless amounts of videogames will numb the pain and anxiety.

Yeah, I'm going to Costa Rica for two weeks starting in mid-May (the 11th I think), and will unfortunately find out my scores while I'm there. Hopefully being in Costa Rica will be enough to dull the pain if I do badly. Likewise, my vacation could be amazing if I find out I did well.

Hm, videogames - not a bad idea. I had to dive right into my post-bac classes after I took the MCAT, so I didn't really have time to relax. "Relaxing" time is definitely when the MCAT gets its fangs into you.

Longest 5 weeks EVER. I'm just worried about VR. <-----WWHWHYYYY!!!!😡 (Dost the lord smite me?) I hope not.

Hypothetically:
15,15,6 <------JOhns HOpkins??!! lmao

YEAHHHHHHH!!!! That's exactly the feeling.

I had midterms this week that I can't even remember what was on them because the MCAT is always on my mind. I'm going to be crazy by the time they come out.

Does insanity hurt your chances of being accepted? 😕

THIS.

One minute I'm sure I got 30+. The next I'm convinced it'll be 7s across the board.

Don't drink that, man. Treat yourself to a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale.

I drink a lot of different beers. But when you need large quantities on a consistent basis, gotta go with Bud Light.

Never heard of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale though. Is it sold nation wide?

Eh, I can't stand any of those "mass-quantity" light beers. Bigfoot ale is pretty hard to find, but the classic is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and that can be found everywhere. You should definitely check it out: http://www.sierranevada.com/beers/paleale.html

I think the biggest problem I have is everyone I run into who ask me how it went.... Then I'm reminded that I have NO IDEA! :xf:

Oh hey guys. Watch out for the "swine" flu. About 100 years ago it killed quite a few people.

20 people have gotten sick in the US<-----dear dear

The media certainly is an evil machine that preys on the paranoid and the naive.

For those following the 3/28 MCAT club thread, their scores are up!! It is quite funny, even though many said that test was really hard (especially PS), the scores posted so far are amazing!

You know I did the GRE last year and I thought waiting for my essays to be scored was excruciating. I stand corrected:scared:

I know how you feel but i still don't regret voiding though. Mostly the high scorers seem to be posting on the 3/28 thread.......interesting

Yea well. Thats what happens, but hey maybe the "scale the compensates for (mild) fluctuations" really did and the aamc will be surprised by all of the students applying with 35+ scores. Talk about an MCAT failure

La fin du monde is a great beer - if you like that one, you should try St. Bernardis ale. all this talk of beer is making me thirsty and its 11am

I went through 3/28 thread, lots of people disappeared after finding out their scores, they did not post them. I'm sure b/c they were low. Most of the people posting are those that are somewhat happy with their score.

Youre very right actually. Its the sad truth but when you dont void a test that you know you did horribly on you do risk ruining your life. (or atleast the next 3 years of it)

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I feel that universities would be more than willing to overlook a bad MCAT score if you retook it and got a good score. There are plenty of reasonable causes for a poor score other than just not being smart enough/cut out for medicine.

That depends on how bad it was and how good your next score is, really. Although, as long as you've got a good answer for "what happened?" you should be alright.

However, for those considering retakes, know that if you retake and get a lesser or equal score, it's not going to look good.🙁
