The days leading up to Dec. 2 >>> The days AFTER Dec. 2 when you don't hear anything then.

Oh gosh. But, nonetheless, I think I am mentally prepared for the worst.

Got a phone call from a school this afternoon. The representative made it known she was gathering info for scholarships and took great pains to sell their institution.

They may have shown their hand...

Wheres the fun in that? What this implies is that they now possess "leverage" in which he can apply "pressure" to other fine universities which have the pleasure to admit him/her on Monday..... If they so please... If X schools is offering 50% tuition waiver, will Y beat it? (Just think, what would Ari Gold do?)

Could you imagine if the AADSAS portal crashes Dec. 2nd at 9 am due to everyone logging in to check school decisions...

Ugh, that (and, of course, getting rejected from all 4 interviews) is my worst fear. I have nightmares about it. Seriously. There's a guy on here who got 6 waitlists last year!

I think it's really rare to get waitlisted from 4+ schools on dec 2nd. Plus the kid you are talking about has a low gpa.

It's rare. let's hope I'm not part of that minority cause I have a very low GPA... (3.3's all around)

I have a low GPA too!! And when us low GPAs get pre-dec interviews, our fate tend to lean towards waitlist rather than rejections, because THEY like to tease us and test our patience!!:nailbiting:

This feels surreal. Less than a week? I've felt like this time would never come!
However, of course, this week is just dragging by.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all schools would just take a second to make ONE click on AADSAS and let us know via e-mail at 12AM on December 2nd? We've waited for so long! Phone calls and whatnot are a nice touch, certainly, but I'm sure we would all rather know at 12AM. 🙂

I dont think they are authorized to release any news at 12 AM. I got an email from one of the schools that said they will have to release them after 9 am EST !!

Hmmm... I've heard from another school that they *might* update at 12 if they feel like staying up that late. However, there wasn't any mention of this not being allowed. Interesting! Maybe the rules have changed.

Some def update at 12 am! For example, San Antonio said they would!
 
Sounds like that school might just be a wee bit lazy, MAdental! 😛
 
so you either receive a phone call for being accepted. But if we are wait listed they actually tell us rather than leaving us hanging for another month? And if we are flat out rejected we find out too?
 
there was a thread where everyone was refreshing at midnight and complaining about how the page wouldn.t load.
then midnight came and went, but aadsas didn.t get updated, and they eventually gave up and went to sleep.
i expect to hear from my schools at 8am, via email
but there was one school, like case or something, that got uploaded at like 2am. this was a thread from like a couple years ago
 
Hi Everyone, sorry for the embarrassing question in advance. I know some of the schools I interviewed at said they don't send out the email until 12 pm. Will the decision be on the AADSAS portal at midnight on the 2nd?

Schools will update the portal when they please. That could be midnight on the 2nd, or it could be any time thereafter. Some schools don't update the portal until days later. Some schools, like UNC, give calls starting on the morning of the 2nd. It just depends on the school! I wouldn't expect many updates--if any at all--at 12AM.
 
Just to add to the anxiety , I found 2 other member who got waitlisted by 5 schools dec 3rd last year. 3.2 gpa 21-22aa dat.

I dunno man, I feel like I want to just take a step back and be thankful that I even received pre-December interviews. As long as you have interviewed and it's not Dec 2, no one knows for certain what is going to happen; it's all speculation that causes more anxiety. Sure, there are trends that show evidence of being waitlisted for low GPA, but what if the people who got waitlisted had crappy interviews?? Each situation is different, so there isn't any use in comparing yourself to things that have happened to others. Only we know our own circumstances.

It's damned hard, but I'm just not going to think about it anymore until Dec 2 and not ruin my (and the friends and family I have probably driven batty by going over every single detail of my interview and how I could have done better answering this or that...) Thanksgiving. Whatever happens happens, and chances are, if you did receive a pre-Dec interview, that means the admissions committee of X school saw something good about your application DESPITE lower GPA/DAT.

We'll be okay.
 
I also saw another kid who got in with 2.8 sgpa and 3.0 overall gpa with 20aa. So yeah we have no clue. As long as you have interviews, you are gonna be fine.
 
I think the wait gets easier as we get closer... I keep myself very busy at work and time flies. I'm trying to be optimistic..even though I break down sometimes. Also, I started watching The Walking Dead 😀 yay Glenn.

Awesome, I still remember after watching the very first episode "Days Gone By", it was like the best thing I had ever seen on TV. Hate to disappoint you, but the later seasons are not quite as exciting. I mean they are good, just not great enough to make me wait in front of the TV 30 minutes before every new episode comes on every Sunday like I used to. But you'll enjoy the show regardless

Season 3 was pretty intense.. Season 4 has not been so intense so far.
 
I had purposely blocked this out of my mind somehow, eliminating anxiety. After reading through this again (was too irresistible not to) , I realized this is less than 4 days away and can't help feeling a twinge of excitement and angst to mix with the turkey I just ate. Capstone + papers + projects + finals to study for and I can't focus on any of 'em. Only had one interview pre-dec, and it all rests on that! Ahhh! :drowning:

Same here. I can't study at all especially I just found out I'm "most likely waitlisted" for one of my schools according to past years thread

This site is causing unnecessary stress
