Hey! Letters are going out on Friday! My husband checked Western's website a little while ago and apparently they've updated the mailing date from the 15th to the 14th.

That means that all of you CA residents could know by Saturday!
 
I'm going to have to make it through a bachelorette weekend in Vegas 😎
while THE Letter is sitting in my mailbox!! I can't decide--is that a good thing?
 
Aarrrrrrgh! I can't take it!! Will I be going through this for another year?? Can't I just call them up?

catnapper i've got the same problem! i'm going home to visit family for spring break and the letter will be at school...across the country. 😱
i think i'm too superstitious to have someone open it for me, so i think i might call Western and have them mail it home.

I;m not sure I'm allowed to do this but I can check for you guys to see if you guys made it.....but only if you want me to check just pm me your name or aim me on lteddygrahamsl but if i found out i can't do this imma stop LOL.
 
Today is the day they sent the letters out..... now it is up to me to tackle the mail lady until I get my letter. Which of course won't be until after the weekend because of living on the East coast. SNAIL MAIL....why not e-mail!

I don't think I can wait any longer.
 
Has anyone tried the email idea that was posted earlier? I've tried a few times today but no luck. Maybe the system changed (at least that's what I'm telling myself)? I'm getting so :scared:!

Lol...I have been a lurker too....I have tried the e-mail today too and it hasn't worked. My quess is they change it from year to year due to the amount of applicants that do not accept. (At least that is what I am telling my self) I like to stay happy in mind anyway. 😀
 
The email thing still isn't working for me, either. Will one of you lucky accepted CA residents post the new instructions since you'll be getting your letters first? 😍 I don't think I can wait for the letter to meander all the way down here!
 
hey guys, I just tried the email thing too and it didn't work for me either! Not trying to be optimistic, but my last name is Lee and my first name starts with a J... and there are probably others with the first name that starts with J and last name Lee... so the same is probably true for you guys? maybe some of our user names will be different? I don't know!

I'm actually live 10 minutes away from Western so I should def get my letter today. I'll let you guys know what I get! But I don't get home till 10:30 pm tonight because of work. And I work 40 minutes away so unfortunately I can't just come home on my lunch break. I don't think I'd want to anyway if I could... I wouldn't want to go back to work feeling bad in case it's a rejection! 😱
 
Ugh, the mail just came but there was no letter from Western. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the weekend.:scared:

I only live about 40 miles away from Western. After five trips to the mailbox in 4 hours, my mail finally arrived. There were no letters from Western yet.

Oh yeah - I called yesterday to ask if the letters were mailed yet (Friday the 14th), and they told me "they were mailed this afternoon."
 
FYI while I was at Western I lived exactly 3 miles away. Every time they sent me something it took at least 2 days to get to me (again 3 miles away in Pomona.

yeep... nothing here in good old Claremont... 10 minutes away from Western and nothing. Here's to Monday!!!
 
Hi all! I've been reading this thread for a while and I thought that I'd add my frustration and stress to the list😛
Western is the only school that I applied to-so it is all up to this one letter...AHHHHHH😱
I don't know if I can make it through till monday!
 
If you guys feel like getting a heads up with the email thing- another thing that they do is if you have a common last name and your email is already taken.... i.e.: [email protected], they may switch it up and make it [email protected], or they may insert a middle initial, like [email protected].

They may not be using the same system this year- plus, like everyone has speculated, they may just not be on the ball as of yet with getting email accounts started. (They STILL haven't posted our midterm grades yet, and it's driving me bonkers!)

Anywho, good luck to everyone- I remember the wait and it was sooooooo hard! I lived in Florida so it was a week before I got my letter.... the postal service in SoCal sucks royally, so don't be discouraged! Good luck!!!!! 👍
 
The waiting is killing me. Just thought I'd share. 😛 Let's discuss our favorite things about Western so far to keep the edge off...I was so impressed by everyone's attitude when I interviewed. I felt they truly wanted to know who I was- my other interviews were nothing like that. Anyone else?
 
my favorite: lots and lots of clinical experience early on. 🙂
 
I completely fell in love with the school, and I loved how enthusiastic the students were to answer questions and give you a real feel for how the PBL works, which I also love.

Here is to another day of waiting, thank gosh spring break has ended now at least I have my current classes to try and focus on.

For those of you who are still waiting across the country: my email still doesn't seem to work... I called Melissa at Western and she said to have it fixed with tech support later. But you can go to https://banweb.westernu.edu/ and log in under current students with your banweb id that was sent to you in email a few months ago. For me it was @ symbol and a bunch of numbers. My password for banweb is last 2 digits of birth year and last 4 of ssn.

I just got my letter of alternate status :cry::cry::cry:. Only 4 more months of waiting...yay.

OMG it worked. I was able to look at all of the restricted items. I hope this means I am in. It definitly made my day. I just have to wait another day for the confirmation being carried by that snail. 😀

I don't mean to be insensitive or beat a dead horse, but is it OK to assume that if you can log in to the secure area of BanWeb that you are accepted? Can any alternates log-in as well? TIA! 🙂
 
Got my alternate letter today! A friend of mine from work got his acceptance today also! Guess I am headed for Kansas State. CONGRATS ALL!!! 😀

That is why I am waiting for the confirmation letter in the mail before I get really excited, Because I was also wondering the same thing. It gives me something to hope for any way. Congrats to all who have gotten their letters and were happy with the response.
 
Rejected from Western!! 🙁 I guess they do their review session in May...

My letter came today! I was out of town so I called my mom and had her open it... I got in!!! :-D Now to choose between Western and Oregon... I'm *pretty* sure Western's where I want to go but I just want to be absolutely sure before I send in that $500. *g*

i got in!! although i kind of knew cause i tried the whole banweb thing and it worked for me. i'm not sure how it goes with alternates though. but good luck to everyone else! i hope i see you there!
 
I GOT IN!! The mail came later today than it ever has, but man was it worth it. I can't believe I'm going to vet school. Congrats to my fellow classmates and good luck to all those still waiting!

PS - I'm in Florida. Didn't take as long as I thought to get here 🙂

The toss up is between the University of Illinois or Western University. Hands down, I am going to Western, my deposit is being mailed today. I hope I made someones day on Illinois' waitlist.

I was just informed from my father that I was accepted to Western today..

However, I already accepted my spot at Oregon State. I will be sending out my declination today so that will free a spot up for an alternate!
 
mine wasn't working yesterday, but it's working now. i already added myself to facebook. 🙂
