my app was mailed out 7/15 and I started receiving them on 7/21

Yeah same here from NYCOM, but they said they would begin to invite for interviews in November until May, isn't november a little late? I thought most schools started late Sept?
 
Did anybody get a CCOM secondary in the mail, too? I got one in the e-mail a couple days ago, and got the same thing in the snail mail today.

yup, i got one via snail mail on saturday which i mailed out today.
 
I just received an e-mail invite for VCOM's secondary application, but it is currently "IN PROGRESS", and should be ready soon.
 
I'm sorry maybe i'm dumb or something but what does "official letterhead" mean when schools say they want a recommendation letter on an "official letterhead"?

official places such as a hospital or a university usually have stationary that they print official documents on. it probably has a logo and an address in the header and is printed on super fancy paper with a watermark.

and you shouldn't be sorry. your question is more useful than most. 👍

NOVEMBER? :wow: I was hoping to have a school all picked out and go apartment shopping around then :laugh:
 
I got the same message PackAmylase did about VCOM, but I haven't gotten my PCOM and LECOM secondaries yet. Kinda worried...
 
What did the email about VCOM say? I got one that said that they got my app and that it is going to be reviewed to determine if I should fill out a secondary.

Mine was an invitation to fill out their secondary application, but the supplemental is still "in progress" and should be posted to their website soon.

Mine was also an invitation to fill out secondary this is a piece of it:

Please accept this letter as an invitation to submit the secondary application. We are in the process of finalizing our revisions to this year’s application. Once the finishing touches are complete, the application will be available on our website http://www.vcom.vt.edu/resource/admissions.html.
 
This was mine:

We thank you for taking the time to submit an application to the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Your application is scheduled to be reviewed by committee. The purpose of committee meeting is to determine whether or not to invite you to submit a Secondary Application and letters of recommendation. Once we have the opportunity to evaluate your application, we will be certain to follow-up with you regarding your status.


But Packamylase and BengaliDoc were in the 1st batch, so its understandable that they may have received an invitation to fill out the VCOM secondary, so I"ll just wait and see.

BTW, has anyone gotten an interview yet from NOVA?

No interview, but I did receive confirmation that all of my supplemental materials have been received. So now it's just waiting for that invite. Same goes for CCOM too.
 
Just so you guys know, I've been revised AGAIN, as of July 22nd, and I'm not sure why. Also, I have a new thing that says 'designated MCAT scores', with a date of July 25th. I sent my MCAT scores via Thx as soon as my April scores came out, so I have no clue what is up with that. I just hope this doesn't screw with my secondaries.

Mine is already submitted, paid and interfolio is already sending my letters. I should be complete this monday or tuesday at KCOM...same for AZCOM.

Is it a paper application or instructions to fill one out online since the application for last year is online?
 
All though the MSUCOM secondary isn't officially out, i believe this is the secondary application for this year: http://www.com.msu.edu/admissions/adm.sec.app/, i filled out last year's secondary from this website and this year the website has a few extra pages that last year weren't there, so i'm assuming this updated version is this year's secondary. just in case someone wants to get started on it. i'll be surprised if this is not the official secondary for MSUCOM, however, don't hold me responsible if it's not, i'm just trying to help.

I received invitation to fill out secondary for VCOM, AZCOM and CCOM.
 
For those that have finished or are currently working on the Kirksville essays, how much are you writing for each question?

I realize it says 500 or less, but I think I may be writing either too little or too concise, since I think I'll be more in the 150-200 word range for each.

Mine are about 250-300 words. Being concise is not a bad thing, but be sure you're getting your points across well with some specific examples/anecdotes.
 
Some news on DMU:
My fiancee called them yesterday. Their new software package for online secondaries crashed, but it has been fixed. The secondary will be available this coming week...hopefully.

Received LECOM-Bradenton's secondary via snail mail today.
 
COMs doesnt explicitly limit to 2 recommendations as per their directions but does anyone know for sure??? if they allow more? (unlike AZCOM saying only the first 2 due to the volume of paperwork)
 
Hmm...haven't gotten either LECOM or PCOM-GA. Hope they get it in next week, or I'll have to call them.

I wouldn't worry too much about LECOM. My fiancee lives at the same address as me and didn't get one yet. PCOM-GA had their first batch sent on the 25th of July, so I wouldn't worry about them either.

Does the CCOM secondary ask about criminal history? If so, does it only ask about felonies, or does it ask about misdemeanors as well? Thanks.

Cool. And AACOMAS doesnt ask at all either, right? Nothing big, just a little shenanigans while in high school.
 
Has anybody heard anything from WVSOM yet, like a pin number and ID emailed to you once the application has been received? That's what I was told when I emailed their admissions.

I have not heard from WVSOM, yet. I'm sure it would be posted if we had.
