I know that interview invites are still going out and some schools are still harboring our applications and making us wait on pins and needles for an interview but everyday is getting closer and closer to April 15th!

So, I have decided to start the official acceptance thread for 2008! Feel free to post on this or PM me any information regarding official acceptances. Due to this arduos ordeal of applying to gradaute school I have decided to get a cell phone that sends my email directly to me and have instant internet access so I am hoping to be really fast in inputing the information from SDNers to this thread!

I will also be distinguishing between the various programs so everyone from every paradigm within the psychological field can benefit from this thread so PLEASE remember to list your specialty (e.g., clinical, counseling) as well when you received your acceptance and how (snail mail, email, phone call, etc.)

I really hope to contribute to this thread. All 10 programs I applied to accept/reject applicants without interviewing and the decisions will start coming around february-march. This is I/O psychology though. :D

I'm not sure yet. I really like the program, but I'm still waiting to hear from several other programs so I want to evaluate all my options first

People were actually accepted into these programs back in December?
 
the Minnesota one is correct (the person was accepted in December)

Sorry, the Oklahoma acceptance came via phone and it is the PhD program
 
Holy crap, you guys! I just got a phone call from my POI at Minnesota. We had two great phone interviews in December and January, and I know the Minnesota clinical PhD program doesn't do in-person interviews. But I wasn't expecting an acceptance this early! I guess this guy is just really on the ball about these things. So exciting!

What's up, webrefdesk/empathiosis? I knew it was you when I saw you mention the tweed suit :D I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the acceptance. My POI knows how early it is, so he understands that I can't make a decision right away. For now, it'll just be a happy thing to keep in mind while I'm on interviews!

You got 2 acceptances already. That's so cool. I don't have any so far. Hopefully I will have at least one by april 15th.

I just got a call that I was accepted into the University of Tulsa clinical PhD program :hardy: woohoo!!!

Yes, ESPECIALLY if you have been accepted to one of the schools I applied to. :p Haha just kidding. I've been laughing about my rejections a lot today. It's better than moping around...
 
Has anyone heard from Ohio State? Its probably too early but I am anxious!

Congrats on getting in there. Will you accept? It's a great program. I interviewed there years ago with Richard Halgin and wish I had been accepted.

Congrats!! I <3 Umass! I went there for my undergrad and absolutely loved it. Who is your POI? (just out of curiosity.. I was pretty tight with the dept)

And empathiosis, yes Halgin is a great prof. His abnormal lecture is the only lecture in the entire school where you have to show up early or you won't get a seat.. And the lecture hall fits 400+.

i received a phone call this evening from my poi- letting me know i have been accepted to ohio state! that was at about 5 o'clock and i still haven't stopped smiling.:hardy:

For what it's worth, (no comment from the peanut gallery, please), I got accepted to Argosy (DC)'s Psy.D program today.

Hi everyone, this may be a dumb question but how long do you have in order to make the decision whether or not to accept the offer? I know some schools haven't even conducted their interviews yet and others are already extending offers... can you wait until you have interviewed everywhere you are interested in or is it like the bussiness model that it's best ediquette to notify them by a week's time? thanks!
