*** The Official LECOM Class of 2024 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

I also got an email today for status update (telling me that I am missing DAT scores). I recently retook the DAT so the new official scores are not on my AADSAS yet. But I notice they used this email - [email protected] to update my status when in the past it was [email protected]. Does that mean I MIGHT get an invitation? Those who got an interview, what email did they use for the invitation? I might be over think this but also anxious to find out!

That’s the email they used when I got the interview invite. Congrats!

REALLY?? :O Do you think it would be a good idea for me to email them my unofficial score report?

I think you should call first as you may not get a reply through email considering how busy they are.

For those of you who was interviewed recently at LECOM, how many page you have to write for the letter of intent after the interview?
Thank you all for your helps!!

Be aware of PBL at LECOM which is not for everyone as evident on their board exam results (# of failed students).

Not really sure where your source is from, but according to the LECOM website: NBDE Part 1 has had at least a 96% pass rate since 2016. It has been higher (98-99%) in recent years. For a class of 105, that's roughly 1-4 people that did not pass on their first attempt.

In fact, LECOM does not approve you to take the NBDE Part 1 until you pass their requirements, which are partially based on your PBL performance.

To put this into perspective, UF states they have a 99.9% pass rate on NBDE1 and Nova doesn't release those stats.

Keep in mind that schools can only prepare you so much for the board exams, everything eventually falls upon you to learn.

With all due respect, this entire topic is trivial. Starting with class of 2023, the boards will change to the new integrated boards. So picking a school now based on their NBDE pass rates doesn't actually matter. However, I do believe that schools with high pass rates now are more likely to adapt to the changes and have high pass rates for the integrated boards. The question every single interviewee should be asking during every single interview to ADCOM is: "How is your dental school tailoring their curriculum to prepare dental students to successfully pass the new integrated boards?" Don't forget...YOU are also interviewing them.

Just some helpful insight.

My AADSAS Still says "None," should I call and ask why my supplemental hasn't been processed yet?

I would send them an email to bring their attention to your application. I sent them an email and my supplemental was processed the next day. Def don't wait

Quick question, but which airport do you guys fly into?

The 3 most common airports we usually fly out of are Tampa Internal Airport (TPA), Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Occasionally, people will fly out of Orlando International Airpot (MCO).

SRQ is the closet but TPA is the cheapest and it's only an hour drive to the school or less depending on traffic.

Did anyone get an email saying that their secondary application was complete? I haven't heard anything from them after submitting the fee in August.

Yea I got an email yesterday. I thought they processed it back in august but apparently they didn't.

Yes, check their portal. if it was processed, the folder items will be checked off as completed or missing, etc. If it hasn't been processed, I suggest emailing them to speed the process, otherwise the app is just sitting there and not being reviewed.

This is not true. Please be patient. As mentioned before, we have 1 person who handles all things admissions. They will let you know if you are missing something or if there is a problem.

Just to mention this yet again, there is 1 person reviewing ~3000+ applicants. It's going to take some time for your initial and then possible supplemental application to be reviewed/processed/updated. There are ~2999 other people in the same boat as you, waiting for a response.

So. Please. Be. Patient.

Anyone here experiencing similar issue? So for some strange reasons, I got an email from LECOM that they received my AADSAS App and asked me to complete the supplemental application. But on two weeks ago, I got the "processed supplemental app" email... is this something I should email admissions??

No. You should not. We are all waiting. Why do you want to cut the queue and get in front of the rest...

When did you submit your application and supplemental if you don’t mind me asking?
I submitted Aug 6, my app was put on hold Aug 7 waiting for official DAT scores, supplementary submitted on Aug 15. App completed Sept 4th. I emailed September 17 asking for a status on application, Sept 20 got email that supp was processed.
Congrats!! Received today?
Yes

Wondering what you said in your email to get your app processed sooner than the others. I emailed them and got no response, and the files are still left unprocessed...
I just asked for a status on the application as my app has been complete. You won't get a response, you can also trying calling, might have to leave a message but as others said there's one person handling everything, so maybe give her some time to see your email

I believe that's correct, so you got an email saying processed supplemental app? If yes than your app is in the right track, the concern is when you don't get that email.

I thought the same thing because I got the same email and I got an invite. So I hope you hear back soon
