*** The Official LECOM Class of 2024 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

For those who have been interviewed, what was the general type of questions asked? And were they hard pressing, relaxed, or in between?

Are we supposed to send the letter right away if LECOM is our first choice? Or do we wait until after they send out the first round of acceptances?

Sending it in earlier can't hurt your chances. So I don't really see the point in waiting till after 1st round. ‍

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after sending their letter of intent? I sent mine to Mrs. Shannon's email a while ago and never got a response. 🤐

It's doubtful that you'd get a response since she has to go through thousands of apps and who knows how many emails. We all just have to be patient and remember that December is just around the corner..

I didnt send a letter of "intent", just a thank you note to my interviewers attached in a word doc and an email thanks to Shannon directly. I did not receive a response and ended up following up just to be sure it was well received and Shannon replied acknowledging receipt. I think the volume is just so high that she cant respond to everyone even though it is likely well received. Your call whether you want to follow up or now. I did, and im glad because now im more comfortable.

Regarding the "intent". I find it odd that they asked for a letter of intent and not simply thank you notes. Despite how impressed i was with the program, i have many more schools to see before i can confidently decide so does it look bad not send a letter of intent just yet and just thank you notes??

Sending a letter of intent can't hurt your chances. Anything you can do that can further impress any ADCOM is worth the time spent. So why not just send one in?

I suppose I just feel like its would be weird to send a letter of intent in September to LECOM and then if i have an interview at a school I would prefer and send them a letter of intent, now I am in a position of dishonesty. Maybe I just made up in my head that I shouldnt send more than 1 letter of intent. I kinda feel as if its like saying this is my number one choice and ill go if accepted. Are the other schools going to find out....almost 100% no. But I think i was just operating under my principle of honesty.

I sent them a nice thank you letter after the interview so i can always send a letter of intent later in november after ive had all my currently scheduled interviews and can confidently declare my intent to enroll. Personal choice for sure...

I also got an email today for status update (telling me that I am missing DAT scores). I recently retook the DAT so the new official scores are not on my AADSAS yet. But I notice they used this email - [email protected] to update my status when in the past it was [email protected]. Does that mean I MIGHT get an invitation? Those who got an interview, what email did they use for the invitation? I might be over think this but also anxious to find out!

Did you get an interview invitation? same thing happened to me. I got an email from that address and I am still waiting to hear.
Thanks

I can totally respect this decision.

No :/ I don't think I would get one from them at this point. It seemed like they reviewed my app and decided not to invite me due to average DAT scores and late application.

Is your file still under review? If you haven't gotten a rejection there is still hope I think 🙂 Good luck to you

Totally not necessary to send one. I know many in my class did not send one. Only send letter of intent if you can do so honestly. You can always send one later if you choose.

Looks like its been two weeks since anyone posted an interview invite in here. Does anyone know how often LECOM sends out invites?

Not sure how often LECOM sends out interviews but they do offer post-December interviews all the way up until usually early Spring. Also keep in mind that not every applicant is browsing/updating these forums.

Usually has one person claim they got an interview though.

So I interviewed at LECOM last week and when I looked at my status on aadsas it says "None" what does that mean?

Has anyone received an interview invite this year that interviewed last year, as well?

Does anyone know how to increase my chances of getting an interview invite to LECOM? This school is one of my top choices and my stats are very competitive for them. I have gotten invites from other, more difficult, schools. I really want to go here and I want to show LECOM that I am serious. I am worried that they might be thinking that they're a fallback for me and wont take me seriously as an applicant. Would it be appropriate to write them a letter of intent? If so, how should I write it? Does anyone have any other suggestions??

From my understanding, Letters of Intent are to be sent following the interview. However, it definitely wouldn't hurt to send an update on what you're doing. Something a little more informal, but that shows you're still interested. Include any other volunteering you have done, research, or grades - whatever.

You're not alone. Definitely think they are looking over some really competitive applicants because they think they're a fall back. I've been getting invites from top schools but not LECOM. I totally feel you. Florida would be sick.

My application has been under review for quite some time now. I’m guessing this is not a bad thing but I’m just getting anxious about it. Any thoughts? Thank you!!

If admission decisions are made in the weeks after you interview (assuming that the committee meets at least a couple times a month) will a letter of intent that is sent more than 3-4 weeks after you interview be helpful (considering that the decision is already made because the committee has met)? Would it be better to wait to see if one is admitted or waitlisted at this point before sending the letter?

I sent mine about 3 weeks after - turned out fine. It’s really up to you. I know several in my class didn’t send anything and were accepted.

What does LECOM consider a science LOR? I got a prof in microbiology and chemistry for my LORs. However, in my folder items, it says that the second LOR is not received yet......BUT my ADEA app should have included both. Right?

I'm sorry if this is a common question, I looked briefly and couldn't find an answer.

Is it advantageous to pick an earlier interview date if possible? Even if all of the available dates are after December 1?

After December 1st I would say definitely try to pick the earliest date because they can offer people spots as soon as they interview, meaning that the longer you wait to interview the less spots will likely be available.

To those who have interviewed already, is the soap carving anything to worry about? Thanks in advance!

You're probably fine. I remember my portal showed I was missing a prerequisite, but it updated WAY later. They will reach out to you if you are missing something.

The interview day or just the interview portion? Interview portion which is a group interview is about 30 minutes.
how long is the interview day? it says it starts at 8:00 AM but I can't find an end time

Did anyone else just receive an email notification about a private message from Shannon Phillips sent through Office 365? It has a link to click to view the message, but I was thinking it could've been spam? Usually she sends me email messages to my yahoo not private messages through Office 365. I'm just hesitant to open it.
