ACCEPTED today!!! Interviewed 2/23, waitlisted on 3/2 but received a phone call from Dr. Mejia today around 2:15 pm. Show interest!!! Express to them good reasons why you want to attend and why you deserve to be there!
Congratulations!!!! Did you ever talk to Dr.Mejia before today or did you just send a letter of intent after your interview?

Thank you! The day I was waitlisted I emailed both Dr. Mejia and the admissions offer expressing interest and letting them know that I wanted to attend. About three weeks later I emailed my admissions offer again a more serious and committed letter of intent stating different reasons why I wanted to go and why I felt like I was a good candidate. And then Dr. Mejia called me today!

Just got accepted earlier today! Such awesome news!!!

Does anyone know how the stuff with the deposit works? Do you just pay 5,000 USD to secure your spot? Can you pay the deposit and then decide afterward that you no longer want to attend? I still have another interview so I'm not sure 100% yet if I'm going to NYU even though I think it's an amazing school and I'm grateful to be accepted there 😛

You will be able to withdraw your application if you decide to go with another program. However, you will lose your deposit.

Were you also off the waitlist?

Okay, thanks for the info @Dr.AlxTak!

To those asking, I wasn't off the waitlist. I interviewed on March 16th and just got accepted the day I posted. I wasn't waitlisted at any point!

I recently got off the waitlist! However from my understanding the official waitlist movement doesn't begin until April. Remember to keep in contact with admissions if you are genuinely interested in attending. My admissions officer called me, so I would also keep in contact with them if possible! If you have any questions feel free to PM me or ask them here.

When were you waitlisted?

Does anyone know how many fourth year NYU dental students match (on average) to OMFS residencies? I've asked around, including current DDS students, but haven't had any luck. If anyone can provide stats, that would be great!

Accepted off waitlist this afternoon. Interviewed Feb 2nd and waitlisted a week later.
Arizona resident
Sci: 3.1 overall 3.27

Were you called on the phone or was it an email acceptance?

I did tell them i would attend on the form they sent.
Yes i continued to reach out to them via email and phone while on the waitlist.
Dr. Mejia called me and asked a few questions and then told me to expect an email which i got a couple hours later. I will be accepting the offer

Hi everyone! I interviewed 2/22 and was waitlisted 3/1. Still really thankful to be on the waitlist but going crazy. I sent a letter of intent on 3/4. I have written another letter but I haven't sent it. I think my second letter is much better (and different) than my first but I don't know if its too much to send another letter? Any input would be fantastic. I want to continue showing interest!

Congrats! Did you send the LOI to the general email or directly to the admission officer who interviewed you? Thanks!

I sent mine to the admissions officer who interviewed me!

Did your admissions officer reply back to you? I had an interview and was waitlisted so I sent her a thank you email and a LOI but she’s not replying so I’m worried she didn’t really have a good impressions of me.

I haven't got neither rejection nor interview yet. Isn't too late for receiving interview now ? Responses are appreciated!

Nope, mine never once answered me. I contacted her about 3-4 times

They said March 30th is the last day of interviews but I stalked last year's thread and someone got invited for an interview in June..

Does anybody know about how many spots are left in the class? Interviewing this week.

For those that got accepted were you contacted via phone or email? I'm traveling out of the country for two weeks after my interview and I'm afraid I'll miss the phone call

No mine never responded to me, so I was kind of worried too. But when Dr. Mejia called me, she mentioned that I had reached out to my admission's officer multiple times.
