Did anyone pay the first deposit ($1500 due on 2/15) yet? How long does it take for the deposit to process?

My first deposit was due a few months ago but when I paid it I got the confirmation email pretty instantly.

what exactly is a letter of intent? What do you do?

Also, when accepted, is there a certain amount of time you are given to decide until your seat opens back up?

For those that got accepted did you receive a scholarship ?

How long do people typically get moved off the waitlist and get accepted? I'm trying to keep showing interest by emails and phone calls to increase chances but at what point do they accept the next batch?

For those who interviewed, did they send you the contact information of the interviewers?

I would think long and hard before attending this school.
If you live frugally for the next 7-10 years after you graduate you can repay the debt back. Obviously, attending other schools you can repay that debt a lot easier, but you gotta deal with the cards your dealt.

Financial burden is undoubtedly one of the downsides to NYU, but they also have a serious lack of support for students here. Most dental schools (not all) accept students who they want to make into dentists. Here it's more of a $100k "tryout". They operate more like a for-profit med school with some seriously intimidating administrative and academic affairs.

Thinking about attn NYU because its the only school u were accepted to? Stay calm and think again.. you can invest the gap year to improve your cv. Or maybe use this acceptance as leverage to the top choice school. Rumor here is that admissions is having a difficulty filling seats for 2024.

I heard that as well. How can you leverage your acceptance here to your top school? Why would the top school care ?

If there is one thing Ive heard again and again during my interviews, it is that you need to show interest to the schools you want to attend. You have to remember that they are also fighting for you with other schools.

If you show that youve been accepted to other programs but still want to attend their school, they will see how sincere you are. Ive sent NYU an acceptance letter from other school and was accepted shortly after. I am not saying that was the determining factor, but I don't think it was looked at negatively.

Did an admissions person tell you that they are having difficulty filling seats for 2024?

I sent an LOI towards the end of january and received an interview invite a few days later. I sent my letter via email to the NYU admissions committee and they noted it down in my file but also informed me that the LOI could be uploaded onto their portal as well.

Also, according to last years thread, the interview invites ran well into march.
Hi, what did you write in the LOI? I am thinking about sending one as well.

guys, do you know if NYU dental superscores DAT scores? and how it works. If anybody knows please explain.
MY first time I was high in english & PAT, and second time I was lower in these sections but higher in the sciences.

They said they'll consider your highest scores between the two for each section. They still recommend that you better the second time.

perfect, its not on their website or anything so i wanted to know for sure.
who told you this btw?

I called admissions before to ask about it because I retook it too.
u think going from a 21 RC to a 17 RC is a red flag? I was consistent in everything else, but RC i went really down. hopefully that wont be a red flag since I did well the 1st time.

what do u think?

Not a red flag but possibly could affect decision considering 17 is a bad score. 24 -> 21 is a different story

Do you guys think NYU is going to send out more interviews? I applied back in October, and I haven't heard anything from them since.
