***The Official NYU College of Dentistry C/O 2024 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

NYU is like 650k+ for 4 years including living and interest. I'm freaking out and I haven't even interviewed. Either you have the capitol or you take out loans and spend the next 40+ years paying it off (like everyone else). I don't know your situation but if you want to talk about it and get some perspective, feel free to DM me.
is NYU your first choice?

Is the class currently full? So any interviews taking place is for waitlist positions?

I don't see them interviewing kids if the class was full so don't be discouraged. Also, I'm not saying this is an accurate measure of how many already accepted, but so far there are only 156 people on the NYU class of 2024 facebook page, and the class size is supposed to be 375. If the class was full I would expect more but I'm just speculating.

Not everyone uses Facebook...

Class won't be full until end of March or so.

Also, for everyone's information, we have about 30 confirmed dropouts (failed, can attend D1 again next year) and 50+ who will have to remediate at the end of the year, so far. Some difficult D2 courses have moved down to D1 spring semester and we suspect the numbers will increase. We started with 387 D1s.

It's gotten a bit tougher after the whole curriculum revamping.

I would really not recommend NYU at the moment. It's a disaster.
I heard that it is getting very hard

Ive heard the same

new dean? Or why the change

I got an interview invite today, but I will probably be turning it down. I was accepted at Touro over a month ago and it's much closer to where I live and I wouldn't need to relocate. Never dreamed I'd turn down a dental school interview, but here I am. Good luck!

that gives us waitlist people some hope lol

Thank you! January 16

I have an interview coming up as well, and I've read about the format, but would you be able to describe your experience? Were the interviewers more laid back and conversational or was it a question-answer interview? Also how was the overall day like? I'm a bit nervous for this one and I'd love to hear from someone who's recently interviewed. Thank you!!

Accepted this morning as well! Interviewed there on January 17th. Let's goooo! Congratulations to those accepted, and good luck to those still interviewing and on the wait list. You got this!
are you going to commit?

The interviewers were laid back. They want to know more about you and what your personality is like. Express interest, ask questions to keep the convo flowing. The tour of NYU is nice; as you tour, you can ask the current students questions about the curriculum, housing, and what to expect. I loved the food vouchers though. I also recommend wearing a piece of clothing or jewelery that makes you pop. It can be a tie with smiley faces or something that people will look in a room and notice you for while still dressing business casual.

Thank you so much!! Congrats again 😊

Send a letter of interest and keep them updated every 2 weeks so, expressing your interest. Still a lot of time in the game, and they really lookout for things like that (i.e. showing interest).
What do you recommend somebody say every 2 weeks? If I just sent an email on Friday updating them on a lot of stuff.. how do I send another email without sounding too annoying? This is literally my dream school and the only school I want to go to. I even told them if I have to apply again I would.

Does anyone know when the deposit is due? There isn't a date for 'Accept our offer of admission' so I'm confused on when I have to accept/submit the deposit.

I believe you click on accept within your NYU portal and it leads to another location, where there is a checklist of things to complete including your deposit, immunizations, etc. The due date is written on there.

You can just say hello I would like to tell the committee that I am still interested.

Boston does the same and said every 2 to 3 weeks email saying to indicate on-going interest

Any candidates who got under 17 or 16 on their DAT ?
and how interview like?

For those who have committed to NYU, did you guys send an electronic copy of your transcripts or a hard copy to NYU?

same here. Got the interview invite too. How did you guys prep for the interview? (although you guys may have seen this kind of questions many times already lol) Just wanted some insight from NYUCD thread~~

What are your stats?

Hey guys!

On the NYU Portal website, has anyone's Academic Audit been completed?
I sent in my official transcript a while back, but the academic audit status has yet to change.
How long does it usually take for them to complete the audit?

Thanks!

The audit isnt done till around June I believe. If you click the link on the portal it takes you to their website and explains the audit
