Just confirmed my interview! See you guys 10/3!! Go Bucks!!
 
Received the phone call this morning and confirmed this evening. I'm really excited!
 
Got the call yesterday morning, so excited to go back to my alma mater on 10/04!!!!!!!!

(AA/TS/PAT/under 17): 24/24/22/none

....... OOSters, anyone staying at Blackwell?
 
Blackwell looked a little expensive after all the cash I shelled out for tickets for my wife and myself and a rental car. I booked a place down the road. I need to call and see if they have special rates though.
 
Blackwell has fee shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Plus the interview is right there at the hotel.

Sadly, my wife and I are at fairly new jobs so time off is limited. The only flight we can make is to Indianapolis. We drive from there. Should be an adventure!

My alma mater too, and I'll be staying at the Blackwell! I graduated 2 years ago..really looking forward to being back on campus!
 
Hey guys! I just RSVP'ed yesterday! Did any of you receive a confirmation email after you RSVP'ed, because I didn't. Also, I just booked my flight ( Arriving Thurs and flying out Sat) but I have not booked my hotel yet. Do we get a discount at the Blackwell if we mention our interview?
 
Just called the Blackwell...$132+tax for dental applicants. Also, I confirmed and have not received any additional emails....except for the one with the date correction.
 
Just a little tip for you guys: last year I interviewed at Ohio State and stayed at the Red Roof Inn on campus and took the University's shuttle bus to the interview, it was much cheaper than staying in the Blackwell Inn.
 
I booked a room in a hotel in Dublin through hotwire for just 54 $. Dublin is just 17 minutes from blackwell (North of OSU). I am driving from Cleveland and if anyone wants to stay in a hotel in Dublin I can give them a ride to school in the morning. My dental school and OSU tour is also scheduled for Friday 1:30 to 2:15 and 3:00 to 3:45.

Well, it's good to have company. I got the invite by snail mail as well, I might respond to that too if I don't hear by tomorrow night.
 
I will be staying at the Blackwell Friday night! If any of you want to hang out and explore the city, let me know! I am bringing an umbrella.. It looks like it will be raining 🙁

Wait, what if it takes a while for VMCAS to complete their verification and so OSU doesn't get the supplemental to me before October 15?
 
Did Ohio send out their last round of interview invites this week? I did not see anything on their Facebook about it, like they did for the previous two rounds.

I dont think they have yet. I called yesterday and they said they would be sent out by the end of the week but I don't think they have yet.
 
I got an email this morning for the November 18th interview. Very excited to visit their campus! Go BUCKS!!!

To anyone who went to the first interview date, did you participate in the friday activities? also what did you wear?
 
I did not go to the Friday events, but I think there were attire recommendations for each day in the emails. Good luck with the interview, I think most people liked the format.

I think they are done offering invitations to interview. They only have 3 interview days (and all invites have been sent out for those days). Unfortunately, Ohio State does not do post-december interviews.
 
On second interview session is coming up this weekend, good luck to anyone who have that interview.

Also my interview is scheduled for the 21st. Anyone here share the same interview session?

That's strange, in my letter stating my application was complete they said they only have 3 interview dates 10/4, 11/8 and 11/15. All dates without football games scheduled that day (as you can imagine why). On the 22 (which is the Saturday) there is a football game at home.

BTW, I'm scheduled for the 15th.

Yeah I was confused when they called me too, but I was too excited to ask further. In the email confirmation they sent me it is confirmed for the November 21, 2014 from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. And apparently javery2006 has her interview scheduled for the 18th, so I'm guessing they extended the interview sessions for 1 more week?

I interview on 21st as well. I am from Cleveland. wonder if this final interview date is filled with more in-state applicants. either way, very excited to be interviewing at OSU. good luck to those interviewing this weekend!

I have a question about the interview format. Do they interview you in a group or individually. The information they sent was kind of vague. I know it is a multiple mini...but is it one on one or more than one.Thanks.
 
You will have 4 mini interviews with one or two interviewers. I think each one lasts about 15 mins. You get short breaks in between. There is some pressure, but I think most people liked it. You will be individually interviewed, but others will be sitting at different tables interviewing in the same room.

Hello, I have been wanting to be a dentist for while now, but do not know if I can get in to OSU since it highly competitive. Do you or anyone else mind sharing there stats, GPA,DAT,Major...etc... My GPA is very high and the average for OSU is 3.6 which I have but Im just worried they might still turn me down or anyone else. So please provide some insight.

Also I am a sophomore I have A's in both chemistry's,both bio's, anatomy, and have to take the rest. Just letting you know

Wait I thought the average GPA was 3.6 and you got into OSU with a 3.3? What made you stand out? Also I don't know much about dentistry or the test scores you have. Also a 3.3?????
Care to explain.

I have not been accepted into OSU yet, although I desperately want the acceptance letter from OSU. I got an interview with OSU back in October. Although my GPA is below avg for OSU but my DAT scores somewhat compensated my GPA. I attended OSU for my undergrad majored in biochemistry.

Remember, avg is just an average. People with higher/lower stats are accepted into dental schools every year. A competitve application is more than GPA and DAT score, you extracurricular activities also plays a huge role.
