Oh I think you misunderstood. I was saying that since my phone was out of commission it would be my luck if Roseman called me today when my phone was broken haha. I only wish I got a call.

I just missed a call from an 801 number. If this isn't Roseman, I'm going to be very angry at whoever from Utah is calling

Well Dr. Harman's number is 801.878.1403 I'm sure you've already done this but just google the number that called you.

I did......just gave me the generic "Salt Lake City landline." Ugh. If it's a telemarketer, what a tease.

"Just" missed the call? at 7 P.M PST? I know Dr. Harman is a hard worker but I dont think he would be willing to work that hard lol : p
keep us posted though! I am hoping to hear back ...

I remember Dr. Harman telling us that if you do get a missed call from an '801' area code, call back!! Meanwhile, I'll be patiently waiting...

I haven't been on here in a while so I'll update my status. I interviewed at Roseman on 3/6/15 and got waitlisted... I have since then interviewed at Midwestern Ill on 3/19/15 and got accepted. I like MWU a lot, but would love to get into Roseman. If they called me off the alternate list I would probably take it.

Another nail biting week begins.

At least my final papers will keep me occupied XD.

Immunization requirements seem like a handful.

Dont know when or IF they will call.... but its been a while since last time anyone got accepted to Roseman.

anyone know if our immunizations need to be complete prior to starting school or can they be in the process of being completed? (primarily the HepB...I'll have one more dose remaining if and when I get in)

Well according to opnwyd, Roseman sent out emails saying people with multiple deposits had 15 days to choose a school. So that would put the deadline around 4/21. I would expect after that deadline a few more offers may go out, but it does look like it has slowed down quite a bit.

it appears that Apr 5 is when some action from the schools should start (to notify applicants with multiple deposits), and they have to give 15-day notice, so that would put us around Apr 20-21 when some movements "should" occur. Just don't know how much with Roseman, although according to other threads, private schools should see more movements than state schools. I really love Roseman despite the high cost, I love the area & the people, I love to ski, but I am still on the waitlist...

I would LOVE to attend Roseman as well and it would be amazing to get taken off the wait list. I guess time will only tell. As for now I am starting to make preparations for the next cycle.

Dont wry being waitlist is still better than not hearing I think. Interviewd Jan. Roseman told me decision on mine is not determined yet.

The number on the FB page keeps going up ... but no Roseman updates here. Still waiting :corny:.

many of those students that got added recently are d1 d2

Many are, some are not ....

Hello everyone. I'm looking to start locking down a place to live for next year. I'll be part of the Class of 2019. Is anyone interested in going in on a 2-3 bedroom apartment/house? Or is anyone looking to fill an existing empty room?

Well, time to start preparing for next cycle.
Hopefully they accept a lot of people from waitlist before school starts, good luck everyone.
Are you on the waitlist as well? I'm gonna give the school until end of April until back to studying for my dat again..sigh..

I'm considering the DAT again too, but I got 20AA and TS, with a 26 PAT. Apparently that's not good enough? My GPA also isn't the greatest and I'm thinking about taking more classes during the spring, but even if I get a 4.0 for 6 credits (full course load) it will only raise my GPA by .05... maybe I'll jsut get a job at a dental office haha

Idk what to do, have MS in Bioengineering... how can I improve my application for next cycle?

Can you try to do more shadowing, with different dentists, as many hours as possible before the next cycle starts? so you could show that you are serious about dentistry and you really want to get in? I know some of us have been sitting on hot coals waiting to get off the waiting list (and still hoping), so we have not done anything so far to improve our application, and now the next cycle is upon us and there's almost no time to do anything substantial. Still, if you can submit in late June (even mid-July is still considered the first wave), you have almost 2.5 months to get new LORs, and additional shadowing hours. I don't know what your stats look like, but in the past, there have been applicants who got accepted the very next cycle without doing anything new, or nothing quite substantial, to their application. Good luck and Chin Up!

rosemans been really quite....silent torture

The old saying about "it's not what you know, it's who you know" can definitely help you. It's obviously not a sure thing, but research dentist in your area to see which ones attended some of the schools you want to attend. Young dentist could be a good idea since they still will know much of the school staff. If you can get in really good with one or more dentist that can put in a good word for you "directly" to the school, then that at least can help get you an interview. It definitely won't hurt your chances. If you have a pre-dent advisor, get in good with them. Basically anyone that can help you and that has relationships with some schools. You still will want to do things to improve your application of course.

Also keep in contact with the school and ask what you can do to improve. A faculty from a Dental School told me that they always tell people who didn't get in to call back and ask what they can do to improve, but hardly anyone calls. When someone does call back a school, it stands out to them and can only help when they apply next cycle. Write down the people who you speak to from the school so you can keep that relationship. You can also write the school (admissions committee) a letter saying that even though you didn't get in this year you will be reapplying to their school for reasons x, y and z. Make sure to put reasons that are on their website and also personal reasons why you are reapplying to their school. Relationships, Relationships, Relationships. Thats my two cents, I hope it helps.

I agree with the above post. I actually applied two years ago and didn't get in anywhere so I did just that, called my top four schools. I actually flew and visited with two of them -just met with admissions so they could put a face/personality to the application. My GPA wasnt great and neither was my DAT. Every school that gave me advice said to do a one year masters... Not retake the DAT. So last year i did just that... then applied. When i applied this year I applied to two of those same schools I had before... interviewed at both and got accepted to both without a wait list. I know it seems like a long thing to do and u just want to get into dental school but the masters was the best thing I ever did. I am so confident I am going to kick butt as a dentist and in school. Also... Just for some stats we had 6 predental students in our masters program and every single one got into at least two dental schools. Cheers folks keep ur head high and work hard, if u really want it and do ur best to get there ...u will eventually get in!

Well, today is the deadline to pick schools from what I was told. Hopefully some calls go out this week and next. It seems to me Roseman had a lot more movement on the wait list in previous years. 🙁 My hope is wearing thin.

where did you find this information "today is the deadline to pick schools?"

ADEA traffic rules: On April 5th they notify schools of ppl who have multiple acceptances, then schools such as Roseman give those applicants 15 days to decide whether or not they will be attending. 5+15 = 20, so since today is the 21st hopefully all is said and done

How many students are in the fb group for this class?

I counted that there are at least 25 current Roseman students in the FB group, there may be more. However this is not a very reliable source since a lot of people who have been accepted may not be in the group.

Last year the group had 99 students =)..and I'm waitlisted and I joined the group to see any new updates
