****The Official Roseman Univ. Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

In interviewed on Jan 9th and have not heard anything from Roseman. Is it worth calling?

Hi guys, I received an acceptance call at 5:52pm EST. Interviewed January 23rd.

would you mind sharing your interview experiences? I have a feb 20th interview coming up!!

I have a Feb 20th afternoon interview. Does anyone have suggestions on hotels/transportation? Is anyone leaving to the airport right after the interview that would want to split taxi/rental car costs?

What time is your flight? I made a reservation for a car rental and am planning to go to the airport after the interview. My return flight isn't until 11pm though.

My return flight is at 8pm. Let me know if you're okay with giving me a ride to the airport.

I booked my overnight stay off of Hotels.com for $99/night and stayed at La Quinta off of 7231 S Catalpa St. I enjoyed the stay there and there are many restaurants within walking distance, they also serve continental breakfast, so it was perfect for my afternoon interview.

Any additional phone calls going out today (Mon, Feb 2nd)?

Hey sorry enamel88, I didn't see your question until now. The interview itself was very relaxing. It was a timed interview so don't worry when they pull you out after twenty minutes. One D4 and one professor. Open file interview. They asked me about myself, why Roseman, why dentistry, etc. Very straightforward.

Definitely focus on the group portion of the interview. They emphasize the ability to work together ("collaboration), which is a huge part of their block curriculum. Just be friendly and open with everyone. Also, when Dr. Harman says 30 seconds stick to 30 seconds. Longer is not better.

Good luck!

P.S. Eat before you get there. No lunch is served.

It's been 4 months since I last interviewed. Just a simple hello would make me happy...

My buddy is a D2 at Roseman. They changed their curriculum and they don't have the real block system since last year. Several topics in one block, not only one course.
I'm wondering to reapply instead of attending Roseman while she told me is a religious school and you can't even drink a coffee in the class. She was regretful of her decision.
What do you guys think? Attend or reapply?

Who goes there your "body"?

Hi there everyone!
This is my first post here, I am interviewing on Feb 6th and I look forward to meeting all of you there.

Your friend might be regretful maybe because the school's system does not match her personality .. if you already been interviewed then you should know by now if this school is right for you or if their values and their educational system fits yours.. after all it is you who are going to spend 4 years of your life there so decide wisely and not based on some people's opinions...

That said, remember that they're trying to sell you the school during your interviews. Current students probably have a more realistic view of the program.

Great. Thanks for the heads up!! For the group interview portion, is it just introducing your partner to the assembly?

I felt the same way on the interview day. My other concern is not having enough patients.

I got an acceptance call on Friday! But I am also a little worried about the atmosphere...the no coffee thing seems excessive. Any current students want to chime in?

Just to nip some things in the bud:
1) Yes, I am a current student here
2) Don't get caught up in the rumor mill. While it's true dental schools are selling the school to you and students may have a better perspective, keep in mind that there are plenty of jaded students that make their voice heard.
3) Dental students love to complain. This is a universal rule for all d schools.
4) You can drink coffee. While it is a very religious and conservative area, to say coffee you could not drink coffee would be ridiculous.
5) Keep in mind that the perspectives you may hear now will be 2 years removed from when you get in.
6) Dental schools are remarkably similar, regardless if it's new or not. We are all broke. We are all exhausted. We all have gripes with our dental school (that are similar more often than not). Choose the school you want to go to based off your own judgement. You're the one forking out 200-400k, not some stranger on the internet.

Thank you for clearing that up! I almost had to reconsider my acceptance if I couldn't have any coffee (got me through undergrad and studying for the DATs!).

Based on my research and interview, I got the impression that Roseman is not religiously affiliated?

Dang it I should have taken the interview for Jan 23rd!

Anyone else staying at the home2 suites the day before the interview (feb 6th) I am arriving before noon on thursday and wouldn't mind meeting some people! 🙂

i have two friends going to that school and they both love it there but i did my research prior to applying to school's i did not just randomly applied just because .. i completely agree with you on selling part and All i was saying is that at the end it is really up to him/her .. ...

I'm not at the Home 2 Suites, the Sleep Inn and will be arriving around 7pm. But I'm down to grab a bite with some people someplace as I'll be hungry. There are some cheap places with great reviews on Yelp not too far away.

Yeah, how do we go about exchaning info, never done it on the forums. It will be my first time in Utah so maybe some other people can join too, all are welcome!

Damn, maybe I should have stayed there too. But I didn't feel like paying a crazy amount for a hotel when all I'm doing is sleeping and changing clothes.

I'm staying there as well! Don't think I'll get there until 10 pm. Would love to meet you guys before the interview 🙂

I have already inboxed you my cellphone! check it!
