The interview process went wonderfully today. I was very impressed with both Touro's facilities and faculty. Yes, it's a new school in the developmental stages but the faculty is seasoned with successful backgrounds and great reputations in the professional field. We were assured that the accreditation process is in the final stages and we'd be notified of decisions as soon as possible. The interview was very relaxed, everyone was very friendly, and I very much enjoyed my visit. Touro is a fantastic institution that takes great pride in its past accomplishments and I can only imagine the dental program adding to Touro's list of achievements. As for the interview-- it's one-on-one, takes roughly 20 minutes, and is simply an assessment of who you are as a person, outside of your academics (at least in my experience). My interview was simply a casual conversation that I enjoyed very much. Best of luck to those with upcoming interviews! Be confident and ready to share your story🙂

someone from this thread said clinic is still on construction. are they done?
do you happen to know future tuition and what specialty clinic will be house? (on website it says pediatric and omfs)...
is the interview open file?

No they dont have anything in the clinic yet. I dont remember exactly, but i think they said after we finish the first year, the clinics are ready.

The tuition is the same as first year. I dont know about other speciality programs.
And it was a close file

Compared to the facilities and faculties of what other schools that you interviewed at?
This was my first interview. I'm sure other schools have great facilities as well, but there are a lot of people that have been trying to tear Touro down for the simple reason that it's a new school. Terrible reasoning in my opinion. They have a fresh start and the perfect opportunity to bring in state-of-the-art dental technologies that we were shown on one of the tours. The sim lab was still under construction, of course, but the designated area was huge. Should be a great asset.

Yes, still under construction. And the future tuition should be similar to the first year with a potential for a 5% increase at most, if I understood correctly. I only recall them mentioning the pediatric and omfs clinics.

And the interview, although advertised as closed file, was indeed not. They had access to our grades as I heard many interviewees mentioning they were asked about those, but I personally, was not asked about mine, although my interviewer did have them at hand. I would say be prepared to discuss your grades and scores, just in case.

At my interview my interviewer told me that she will definitely recommend me for the school, is that even plausible or have people tried to mess with others' hope like that? Has anyone experienced that before,

Sure, that's the job of the interviewer. He or she has to glean a perception of you that they then have to share with the admissions board to aid in making their decisions. They will have either a favorable recommendation or not. In your case, it sounds like the former, so great job and best of luck to you! I had a similar experience🙂

Did they mention anything about class size and how many people they will be interviewing? Thank you for all the information in advance!

There is housing on campus that is shared with the medical students and they will be tearing down and rebuilding a new residential hall for additional housing that they said would be ready very soon. The surrounding area is very scenic. I know of a few malls in the area and other recreational activities. You're also not too far the city which has endless options. We don't know for sure when we'll be hearing back as they can't release any information until they receive full accreditation and permission to do so. They hope to receive both within the next month or so, but it could be sooner. That's completely out of their hands as it's a third-party issue. Again, they are not authorized to release decisions until they are fully accredited. And yes, they plan on using cadavers in the anatomy courses.

I usually don't like to make any comment, but seriously your comments are so stupid. If you can show us your score and the letter of acceptance, you can make more comment. But if you are not be able to, please leave this place because it is not for you.

You must be new here. Feralis is a god.

My similar experience was at Touro lol still waiting for the decision, of course.
Haha, I slept for just 3 hours thinking about the interview, certain questions I could have answered them differently but being under stress things don't always work the way you expect them. But I am hoping we both get in. Was that your only interview? For me it was and I can't wrap my head around not getting in.

Aw, don't stress out about that. You had your interview, I'm sure they liked you and don't overthink your answers. Not much you can do at this point. Remember that out of 2200+ applicants, they chose you, so that must mean something! Just stay calm, breathe and stay positive🙂 And so far this is the only school I've interviewed at so I completely understand your concern. Hang in there!

Did you send a thank you email? I did, I heard that shows the people that you are still interested in the school. Hopefully that's true. I am going to try to keep myself busy working out these days maybe that would help.

I interviwed at iu and the guy who interviewed me really played around and tried to confuse me. so some of them defiantly will mess with u and the ppl at temple were horrific. but still if ur interview went well then im sure u will getin. specially ujust got he equivalent of an early interview.

do u know if how many interview days had been conducted already and how many candidates were there with u.
thanks

do they have sim lab ready?

do they have sim lab ready?

The sim lab is not ready, they had a few samples there to show us and showed us where the labs we're going to be. It's going to be a huge sim lab compared to other schools. 112 chairs.

Oh and my interview was open file (they knew my entire app inside out).

Does anyone have any suggestions for airports to fly into, hotels to stay in, or means of transportation once you are near Touro?

so @tooth knockn
what are your feedback for this school after the interview? put out some story.

Nice building, Staff and presenters were very informative. Tour of building, and campus, was nice. . . . Construction plans seem to be very up to date and modern. Dental program will try to incorporate CAD-CAM technology learning for the student.

I like the school a lot, everybody seemed mad chilled.

GO TOURO !!!!

tryting to email touro, but email address I got from ADEA supplmemental page seems invalid. My email keeps getting returned.
Anyone have the real email address?
