Anyone heard back recently?
Hope I will soon. Noemi said we would hear back from them in three weeks after interview. And today is the end of the second week...why time’s going so slowly...

Today is the 4th week for us 26th people and as far as I know, none of us have heard back either :/

Just curious. Does everyone else's status on AADSAS say "received/application complete"? or are your guys' under review? I submitted like late june.
Same here. Im wondering if they are doing any more interviews ...

Hey guys! Is there any Facebook group or page for the Class of 2022? I wanna get in touch with some of my future classmates!

Okay I hate to drive myself crazy here, but seriously, has ANYONE heard the last few weeks...? It’s been almost 6 weeks for Jan 26th interviewers and as far as I know it’s been completely silent for everyone. It’s killing me...

is UCLA your top choice? seems like you already got a bunch of great options?

Great options, 100% cannot complain. I think they’ve slowly turned into my top choice.... while I felt a more emotional, exciting attachment to Penn, UCLA was obviously impressive too and staying in CA/instate tuition/close to friends and family/other practicalities would probably trump the ~*gut feeling*~ of Penn. Idk I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch, but that’s also why I’m so anxious to hear back, so I can start deciding haha

I interviewed 1/23 and nothing yet either from here. They said we would hear back in 2-3 weeks too so I am not sure what is going on.

I also interviewed on 1/26! On mondays im like, this is it! here we go!

Then friday 5pm comes and I get sad.

repeat cycle

I got accepted today :soexcited:

Was beginning to feel discouraged since it’s been like 6 weeks since I interviewed, and they said we should hear back after 2 weeks. Anyways, hang in there for those of you who haven’t heard back. They may just be waiting for people to turn down their acceptances before accepting more.

what day did you interview on?

Hey guys, has anyone from the 1/26 group heard back yet? Or heard anything about our status?

I'm thinking of giving them a call soon. thanks!

Haven't heard back.... emailed them to make sure everything was good and got a generic response that they've been waiting on recently accepted applicants to make a decision. I took this as a soft rejection or as them dropping a hint that we interviewed for waitlist spots. I've personally started moving on a little... it's been 8 weeks. That's cray.

accepted yesterday. interviewed 1/23. Don't give up hope! I think they are being very slow at handing out acceptances
Congrats! Are you going?
And seems like they are kind of accepting one people per week lol. I interviewed 2/9, cannot imagine how many more weeks I’m gonna wait.

Also got a call and was accepted yesterday. Gotta make a tough choicr soon 🙁

Recently our school underwent a site visit from the Comission on Dental Accredidation and a lot of focus from different departments was being put into the site visit. That might be a reason acceptances have been taking a bit longer than what they said. Good luck to those waiting and us D1s are ready to meet all of you accepted in the fall. Rest up, though! Lol!

Hey guys!! Does anyone know what apartment complex is most popular for first year dental students? I'm between Paseo and Weyburn, but I want to be around first years!

A lot of my classmates live at Weyburn. I haven’t even met anyone that lived at Paseo. Not saying there isn’t any, but I think Weyburn is more popular.

Weyburn is a collective term for all of the university-owned apartments for grad students in Westwood (Hilgard being the one exception). So Paseo is a part of Weyburn.

Hey @californiway21 !

Is it a good idea to update my application now in UCLA with more volunteering hours? If yes, how can I do it? Just by emailing Noemi?

Well after a long 12 weeks, got into UCLA on Friday! Don't lose hope if you're still waiting.

Congrats my man! You deserve it! Will you save your seat?
Thank you!!
Well I had decided on Penn and had kinda mentally moved past UCLA, so it's gonna be hard... I've been planning on Penn, found an apartment and everything.I think that logically I'd be crazy to turn down UCLA but I've developed that emotional connection to Penn.

I have a couple weeks and haven't even gotten the mailings from UCLA yet. I'll keep y'all updated 🙂

Congrats to all of you who got accepted to UCLA.
Can somebody please advice me about this matter:
I have an opportunity to do about 250 hours of volunteering in a hospital. It includes training and at the end I will get a certificate from UCLA extension program. Is it better to go through this opportunity or continue my volunteering in the dental office which I am working in right now?

Hi all, I can't find this anywhere in the accepted info stuff they've sent out... Do we need to be collecting teeth?

D1 here - we’re about three weeks from end of spring quarter and still haven’t used real teeth. You can start putting jars out if you want, but don’t make it that big of a priority right now. Instead, brush up on your gross anatomy knowledge for that Honors grade.

Hello,

The first time I applied to dental schools i applied with DAT 17 and 2.8 science GPA. overal gpa 3.55 didnt get an interview from any of the 12 schools.

The second time (last cycle) i applied with a DAT of 20, 22 on each science, 16 on math, 3.2 science gpa..overal gpa 3.55. yet no interviews

now I am deciding to reapply without retaking the dat for the third time.. I am just confused why i didnt recieve a single interview on the second time i applied. any advice would help!!

Not sure about which schools you were applying to. But for UCLA, I think they like students with high DAT and GPA and your stats are a little lower than the average (3.75 GPA and 23 DAT). Maybe you can call one or two admission offices and ask them what you can do to make you more competitive in the next application cycle. Sometimes it helps.

Hi Guys,

I applied to UCLA but havent heard a word from them. I'm assuming its over at this point but shouldnt they have at least sent me a rejection letter? Any one else have this issue?
