Did anyone else get an "invited for interview" from UDM on their aadsas but no email? lol

@Dental990DDS is it possible that we were notified about interview invites through the portal through a clerical/computer error? My AADSAS portal school decision changed to "invited for interview" but haven't received any other info...I just saw in other threads that there was speculation it could have been a mistake and i got a little freaked out!

I see that people are thinking it might be an error because the update was during the weekend. As far as I know, the portal gets updated once a day, so UDM might sent the update sometime late on Friday and that's why it showed up in your portal on Saturday. My interview invite first came via email, but I don't think they would make such an error on the portal (especially when you are not the only one who got the "Invited for interview" status change). You will hear good news on Monday morning!
 
The lady I talked to was confused why the emails weren't received, she sent them out Friday night. She tried again but I still haven't got it.
 
I got the email just now. Interview dates are Saturdays starting 9/6 and then on specific Saturdays after that. 8am - 1pm or 10am - 3pm options

What are you planning to do for traveling and housing arrangement? (if you dont mind me asking)
 
I'm actually from nearby (~45 min) so I'll just be driving up in the morning!
 
Hello. How long did it take for them to cash your check.? I sent my check two weeks ago and it hasn't been cashed out, but I also do not want to bother them. Thats also the only thing I need for my app to be complete. Any idea on how long it takes them please ?
 
@MasterDental I'm not sure, I sent a money order personally. Other schools have taken a while with my other checks though. I would give them a little more time!
 
Interview for Sept 6th!!! Im going to be driving down from Toronto. @MasterDental Im not sure how long they would take, but just wanted to let you know that I got an interview and I still haven't paid the fee yet. I was told to just bring it along on the day of the interview.

So is there any additional information about how to prepare for the UDM interview? Should I check another thread? Tips and information about how the interview is held is greatly appreciated!

There are going to be 2 faculty members interviewing you for about 20 min. It is more like having a conversation. Definitely one of kicked back styles. Queations can be random (they might or might not ask you one of those questions like why UDM or Tell us about yourself), but not necessarily hard ones that you should provide logical thoughts. This is as far as I know.
 
Hiya guys! I received my invitation email on Monday and have called to schedule an interview three or four times. I've left two voice mails but I'm not receiving a response. When is the best time to call? I live in California.

i scheduled by phone and they told me they would send me a confirmation by email but i havent received it yet

the woman i spoke with said it would take a couple days
 
They will send you a packet starting mid Aug for those who scheduled the date🙂. That's what the lady told me. As for as I know, there is no supplimental or secondary apps that we need to fill out for the interview date 😉.

Well the packet includes a brochure about the city of Detroit, more like a tour guide, and several individual papers confirming that you have scheduled an interview, a map and so on. You will know what I am saying once you get it.
 
Those of you going to the Sept 6th interview, are any of you arriving the night before to the airport? Would you like to split a cab? While I am so grateful to receive interviews, it's sad to see money flow out my pockets 😱

Same question here, I'm having a hard time reaching them by phone.
 
Does anyone have an information on where to stay (safe but not too far away from the school) in Detroit? Here's some info I've found so far: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/hotels-near-u-of-detroit-mercy-dental.859804/
I've just started looking but thought I'd post on here in case anyone has found out anything else. Thanks for the help. Can't wait to meet those interviewing on Sept 27th!! and Good Luck to those who are still waiting for an invite. It'll happen, just be patient!
 
The class of 2018 started the orientation week today, and Dr. Jeffers announced the stats of our class:

The average GPA was 3.65
The average DAT in all sections was 21
 
Hey everyone,
Just wondering how long it took for UDM to cash your application fee? I sent mine 3 weeks ago and its still hasn't been cashed!
