From MA too! had mine already!Got an interview today and I'm from MA. So excited!!
they have friday and saturday interviewsGot an interview! My confirmation email says Friday Nov 6th, but everybody seems to be having it Nov 7th so I'm a little confused. I wonder if they got the date mixed up..?
That doesn't make any sense. Why would they offer you an interview and not have space for you? You called the very next day... That's unprofessional of themSo I received an email yesterday afternoon for an interview on Feb. 6 but didn't see it till later that day. I was going to email them but decided I would just call them the next day and ask a few questions I had. I called this morning and they said all the days are filled up with no more open spots 🙁. She said I'm on a wait-list now for the interview, just depending on whether or not other people drop out.. I'm kinda nervous and scared that I lost this opportunity just because i called a day too late. What do you think are the chances?
Exactly, I guess they gave out more interviews then interview spots they had and those who replied first got them. Well, guess I learned my lesson.. can only hope for the best now. That doesn't make any sense. Why would they offer you an interview and not have space for you? You called the very next day... she told me that all interview dates are full currently. My best luck is if someone withdraws from their interview, then i'll get the spot. Hopefully some people will get dec 1 acceptances and cancel their western interview..Are all done with interviews? Weird they'd offer an interview and not give you a date. Ask them if they're is any other open dates prior to that interview date that you may switch to.
I'm sure a lot of people will cancel their interviews after receiving acceptances in Dec. Did the email even say anything about the spots being first-come, first-served? If not, that's kinda lame on their part.Exactly, I guess they gave out more interviews then interview spots they had and those who replied first got them. I rescheduled my interview for January. If I get into my top dental school choice then I'll definitely drop the interview. I'll let you know 🙂Exactly, I guess they gave out more interviews then interview spots they had and those who replied first got them. Well, guess I learned my lesson.. can only hope for the best now.

closedDoes anybody know the interview is the close-file or the open-file?
Thanks,
I, my personal reference only, treat it as a polite rejection emailI don't understand.
So they've booked all interview dates. Are they going to send out a "wait-list" for interviews?...
yes me! See you there!Anyone going to the interview this Saturday? I'm stoked about it!

if the interview is on friday also, im guessing it ends before it tour right?I'm doing the tour this Friday 🙂
I'm not sure. My interview is on Sat and the tour is at 3PM on Fri (earliest one is at 2 or 2:30) so I'm guessing the tour would be after the interview.if the interview is on friday also, im guessing it ends before it tour right?
Mind if I ask you how you find out that information? SDN interview feedbacks say both closed and open file, and the last year thread says it's open file. Do you have any idea how to find that out?closed

Those numbers sound correct, but that doesn't mean that only 68 people get accepted. Western isn't usually people's top choice (although it is a very good school and I have many family members who attended Western), so I would guess they give out 200-300 acceptances in order to fill 68 seats.I think they interview about 375 people and there are 68 seats. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I got this number from their school website.
Thank you for the helpful info!Good luck applicants. Only read a couple posts but here's some insight.
- business casual attire for the Friday afternoon tour (but there's no such thing as being over dressed). you'll be touring the clinic with a faculty member most likely.
- the Friday interview group is a smaller group (20 I think)
- the Saturday interview group is larger (close to 100)
- obviously suit and tie for the actual interview.
- it is a closed interview.
- interviewed close to 500 for the 2019 class and our class size is 69. No idea how many actually were accepted.
- I'll be giving tours Saturday morning
- don't forget to smile!
