Just so everyone knows, San Antonio confirmed at my interview that they are still sending the first acceptances December 1 (even though at my Baylor interview I was told the agreed date was December 3).

At UTSD yesterday, the dean of admissions said that it is nationally agreed that no acceptances are to be given BEFORE Dec. 1, however it's up to the schools to set their own date. For UTSD it's Dec. 3.

I don't think this has been discussed here, but just curious..if you could choose one Texas dental school, which one would you choose and why? Obviously all three of them are great, but you can only attend 🙂

what do you mean simplest way? I recommend taking your own car, rental, or taxi. If you're from Houston, I'd say take 288 South and exit Holcombe and turn right. Turn left on Cambridge and you will see it on the right side. Either turn right on Holcombe or Old Spanish Trail. Both will hit Cambridge St

A portfolio and pen will come in handy if you're the note-taker type. 😉

Haha, thanks! Yes, lol 😀 I'm not a non-traditional student. I graduate in December. I took a lot of the recommended but not required courses (right now I am taking Neurobiology, Anatomy, and a Business Management course). Good luck!

Thanks tttran and madirocks! 🙂 My hope was to give these kinds of folks hope when posting these. 😉 As far as secrets, I don't think I'm doing anything that anyone hasn't heard of. I think it is important of course to hit all aspects of what they're asking for--they want WELL-ROUNDED people. Not just 4.0s. They also want people who can communicate. The personal statement is REALLY important. I also made sure to take advantage of all of the optional essays and really addressed any situations I might want them to know about within these essays. Be certain about who you get your LOR from. Both schools I visited so far know the dentist that I shadowed in a very positive way, and he wrote me a LOR. At the interview, I suggest for male or female, a SUIT. Interact with the other interviewees and don't be on your phone or to yourself. Like I said, I don't think this is anything special, but some applicants do stray from these things. Good luck all!!!

Yeah I'm waiting to hear something from one of the schools. When I called last week, Janet at Baylor told me that they just got in all of the out staters along with TX resident applicants. So they're pretty busy reviewing everyone. I really hope we get to hear back from at least one of the TX schools though
