I didn't ask, sorry.


He did say something that was interesting. He said they send out 120 acceptances on dec 1st (said pretty much the other two do the same), and usually expect about 40 to place a deposit. This year there was about ~60, which they were surprised by. He mentioned that they usually do 7 rounds to fill the class but since they are already at 82, he doesn't think it will take as long to fill.

Positive vibes!! During the interview they mentioned 103-105 will make the cut and towards graduation our class will be around 120 (due to the program uthscsa has with schools outside the US)

Anyone know what the actual details are on baylor building a new clinic? Have they started anything?

For UTSD: 2nd Round of acceptances took place on Jan 11 and they were given two weeks to decide (Jan 25) EDIT: correction: Jan 31 was deadline. So 3rd round may have already happened around the 25th. If that's the case we won't hear back until next week (around Feb 8). Hope I'm wrong so we can get some acceptances in today or later this week!

They gave me until Jan 31 so 3rd rounds have probably not been sent out. Most likely they will be sent out around Feb 8 like you said.

I don't know for sure but I would assume yes so I don't get my hopes up... I'm also waiting from them (I interviewed in January). Congratulations to everyone who heard back today!!! Y'all are rockstars!

Same!! I interviewed then too! I know it's only been like two weeks since I interviewed but seeing acceptances from them, had to ask. They don't have many seats left... :/

According to past history (in the 2013 TMDSAS thread), UTSD held 268 interviews with 167 offers for 103 seats. That means if you interviewed then you'd have a 62.3% chance of receiving an acceptance. Of the people receiving acceptances, about 62% (103/167) commit to UTSD.

Using this data and some information I read earlier in this thread (84 seats filled on Jan 23rd, 10 days after 2nd round), here's what the next projected numbers will look like:

2nd round: 84 filled seats
3rd round (anytime Feb 1 to Feb 8): 19 acceptances sent, 12 (19*.62) committments, so 84+12= 96 filled seats
4th round (Feb 15- Mar 1): 7 acceptances sent, 4 (7*.62) committments, 100 filled seats
5th round (Mar 1- Mar 8): 3 acceptances sent, 2 committments, 102 filled seats
6th round and up: wildcard acceptances lol

It seems that all seats will be filled up by March according to my projections.

EDIT: I went back and applied this methodology to the 1st round and 2nd round to see just how close my numbers would add up to previous numbers.

Round 1 (Mid December): 103 acceptances sent, 103*.62 =64 committed, 64 seats filled
Round 2: 39 acceptances sent, 24 committed, 88 filled seats

when you add up all of the offers in the rounds, 103 + 39 + 19 + 7 + 3 , that's 171 offers sent, which is nearly the same as the benchmark information (167 offers). This makes me confident that my numbers are close to the reality.

yeah it says it in the email that another letter will be sent with scholarship info but I am assuming that will be sent after you send in the deposit

So are people able to hold spots at multiple schools for a while or is there a deadline when they have to make a for sure decision on one school? Wondering how likely it is for all the current filled spots to be opened up!

Deadline is May 1st I believe. I think they may the alt list in April. I could be wrong tho

Already expected it based on replies here, but I just received a rejection email from San Antonio without interview. My heart stopped for a second because I thought it was an acceptance from UTSD, haha. I submitted my application relatively late, so if I have to apply again next cycle I will do so early! Can't win them all

Last time I heard, ~84 seats have been filled.
However, I do not know when is the next round of acceptance. I remembered people got accepted into March/April last year
 
For those that are interested, impressions day will be on April 8th this year.
