I don't think so. Wasn't their first on Dec 1st, the second on Jan 5th, and the third on Feb 1st?Wasn't that their second round?
I'm not sure, you're probably rightI don't think so. Wasn't their first on Dec 1st, the second on Jan 5th, and the third on Feb 1st?

UTHSCSA all the way! Highly reputable. One of the best schools in the nation. New clinic. A lot of outreach and research opportunities = fun!! And, we get the new curriculum. Can't top that 😉But I'll lose my $60 deposit! 😉
That is correct. And we get 14 days to accept or decline the offer. So perhaps after valentines another wave may go out, if there is still any seats availableI don't think so. Wasn't their first on Dec 1st, the second on Jan 5th, and the third on Feb 1st?
Yeah.... But it's San Antonio, I feel like living in Dallas wins by default 😉UTHSCSA all the way! Highly reputable. One of the best schools in the nation. New clinic. A lot of outreach and research opportunities = fun!! And, we get the new curriculum. Can't top that 😉

I hope they didn't fill all the remaining seats today. Still holding out a little hope!Do you all think A&M sent all the acceptences for today already?
Thanks for all your help guys! Might be making my own thread with pros/cons on the two schools and ask for ya'll opinions on the two great schools. Lots to think about! 😕
When you graduate from the more expensive school, the people who went to TAMU will be debt free 3-5 years before you.
Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it! However, it doesn't really apply to my situation. I'll be having to decide between San Antonio and TAMU as an in state TX resident, so there really isn't much of a price difference.
In general though, you're absolutely right.
Accepted to TAMU yesterday!!!!!
Where do we go to formally accept? Do we wait for whatever is coming in the mail? I logged into the same portal where we filled out our secondary application, but couldn't find anything there.
Thanks!!They'll send you a letter with a mailing address!

Correct me if I'm wrong, I am looking at tuition on both their sites and San Antonio is almost $30,000 more after all 4 years in tuition alone. With a %5.5 interest rate that adds on another $10,000. That is a substantial amount of extra money that doesn't affect the growth of you as a business. It especially adds up when you have to scrounge up a %20 down payment and take on a mortgage after you complete school.
Where did you find up to date tuition for a&m? I can only find 13-14 data.
I'm not sure why the numbers on that link you posted are so off. But here's the actual COA for the DDS program.

You don't have to buy any books here. Everything you need to succeed is covered in tuition and fees. If you want to buy loupes or something you would have to pay for those yourself but loupes also aren't required.I don't think you're adding the numbers right. For UTHSCSA, what you pay for "Tuition" is the Subtotal that includes tuition, fees, preclinical, and tech which comes out to $122,131.
For TAMU, you have to add Tuition and Fees (including loan fees) and Books and Supplies (covered under technology at UTHSCSA because all books are on the laptop). That ends up at $122,416.
If anyone currently at A&M wants to comment on if they actually spend all that money on books/supplies or less, that would be great. However, I do know that you definitely spend the given money at UTHSCSA because again it's all part of the tech package.
Remember this does not include any year over year increases in tuition so it's not exactly what we will be paying over the 4 years.

How it works is the 27k tuition and fees goes to the school. The 24k~ (for books, room and board, traveling ect.) goes directly into your bank account and you can do whatever you want with it.So do you even touch the "Books and Supplies" money? What's that for then?
And I believe San Antonio gives you $1600 for loupes

Gotcha! Thanks so much for your help. Sorry but I'm still kind of confused on why the school would set aide "books and supplies" money if it is covered under the tuition and fees like you mentioned? They put aside a little over 10k so it must be for something important/necessary right?
Hmm maybe I'm not being clear. Tuition and fees (27k) are the mandatory fees you have to pay the school before you can begin classes. Books and supplies aren't included in that tuition and fees. Which is a good thing because most courses we take here don't have a required text. If they did include books into the tution and fees A&M would buy all the textbooks for you and give them to you. (Which would be a waste of money because the books would just be collecting dust as we don't use them). They did include them in the COA though so if you did want to buy the books you could still purchase them.Gotcha! Thanks so much for your help. Question. Can I drop the A&P II course I'm taking at a community college after already getting accepted?
I would call the school you got into. Some don't want you to do that. Always safer to consult them 🙂Question. Can I drop the A&P II course I'm taking at a community college after already getting accepted?
Does anyone know what the deal is with TAMU's new clinic? Is it going to be close to the old one and when does it open? Is it a done deal or just rumors?
I approve this decision.😉Also, if anyone cares, I decided to accept my offer to A&Mand will be taking the L on that $60 deposit to SA lol. I decided it will be significantly cheaper because I'm going to try living at home with my parents and commuting to school (is that lame?
), but it basically cuts my cost in half. I personally think Dallas is a better city too all things considered. Sad I won't be able to enjoy the new facilities at SA and their new style of learning though, although maybe TAMU will come through with their shiny new building in time for our class to use it. But at least there will be one more spot opening at SA for one of you lucky folks next round!
