dude, I can't imagine a guy going for one of those ridiculous 8 pillow w/ a huge spread bedsets. What do you even do w/ that thing? And, jesus, 225 dollars? WTF? You could get like 10 bottles of jim beam for that.

Way too girly

No, but you are missing the jewelry display case and the Enrique Iglesias posters.

Nautica. Think Nautica. or solid colors. but not pink...

It looks fine. Doesn't look too feminine. The only person that needs to be satisfied with what you sleep on is you. So honestly, other people's opinions shouldn't matter.

But if all you really want is a study sanctuary, wouldn't you want to make your bed look as crappy as possible to stay the hell away from it? That looks too fancy and somewhat alluring "come sleep on meeeee, (insert your name)...comeeeee"

One thing I never understood with these multiple pillow sets. Why are there so many pillows? What do you do with the other 2 layer of pillows when you sleep? I normally just throw them on the ground when I sleep in hotels. Sometimes I form a pillow wall.

I sleep with 7 different pillows. Some are used for pillow construction, others are single-appendage support. I am a fitful sleeper, so this forms like a padded cell on the bed for me to toss and turn in.

Everyone please stop with this bigotry and madness! Who are we to judge if the OP wants to have his bed sheets match the rest of his Lily Pulitzer collection? Why does it matter if he wants to ensure a sanctuary with which he can invite the warm, loving feeling of another man's touch? Why should we care if the OP sits down when he pees?

OP, do what makes you happy. Get the gayest bed spread you can find. In fact, this one is not gay enough. If you have to ask if it's gay or not, keep looking! You will find one! Stay strong. We are with you!

You're only allowed to get the bedding if you sleep in it like this.

Yes, it's too girly and too expensive.

Why on God's green earth would you spend that much money on sheets?

That's not girly at all, just maybe a little country club. On the plus side, chicks won't find it off-putting.

LOL - it doesn't scream girly to me. And if it makes you happy, go for it.

If you're asking this question about that bedroom set at that price, I wonder if you'll be qualified to make any medical decisions in the future...

Wow. I forgot how people can be on SDN.. I am actually gay, though far from some sort of queeny fashion gay (not that there is anything wrong with that). It goes well with some wall hanging's/color scheme of other stuff I already have. Price is immaterial as it's my "housewarming" present from my parents. I like studying on my bed....so it's not a bad thing for it to be inviting.

I would be weary of buying any fabric that you will have to have near your body for 1/3rd of your day every day (pretty much) online, without having actually checked out what it feels like.

Also, when someone makes fun of you for having something by Martha Stewart, remind them that she was in jail. GANGSTA.

Since thats the case, hit up room and board

Grab a couple Eames chairs while you're there

You want a study sanctuary, check out this desk setup. I got this desk, with the hutch, for about $300. I had some online coupons.

The desk is really big and nice quality. Pricey, but it makes my little studio apartment look and feel like a study sanctuary.

I actually don't know how bed sheet contribute to a study sanctuary. Doesn't make sense. Wouldn't you want more desk and work stuff than sleeping stuff?

Overstock.com for bedding and that weird store with tuesday in the name for pillows and comforters. Buy single color stuff that's have on heavy discount. I got some killer deals.

no flowers? good.

that bedding wouldn't deter me by any means. i'll take sophisticated prints over boring mannish dorm patterns any day.

of course, we'd have to get married first.

How can anything be too girly for a gay guy?

Walk around JC Penny, find the bedding section (away from the kids/girl stuff), close your eyes, spin around 4 times with your arm outstretched, and then open your eyes. Whatever you are pointing at, purchase (with a 10% off coupon clipped out of the newspaper, of course).

But seriously, people that make things more difficult than they have to be drive me insane. Just get what you like. Let your freak flag fly. Did you honestly expect these crumbsnatchers to help you out?

Honest advice:

Buy the nicest sheet set you can afford. The higher the thread count, the better. Buy a simple colored comforter/quilt to throw on top of it. Get two of the nicest pillows you can afford. Buy a couple accent pillows that work with the blanket. Buy one of these:

Make your bed every day. Voila. Job done.

I'm kind of surprised that you knew Lilly Pulitzer was a brand, tbh

Really? Gender and sexual orientation are two separate identities...

So, yeah, there are plenty of things that can be too "girly" for a gay guy if he so thinks so.

I'm interested to hear an answer, if he wishes, from an actual gay guy.

How can anything be too girly for a gay guy?

Kind of a stereotypical comment... In contrast to what popular culture portrays, probably 80% of the gay guys I meet are completely turned off by girly decorations/clothing/vocal patterns/behaviors/etc., as am I. But everyone's tastes are different, which is fine; I've also met gay guys for whom nothing would be too girly.

How can anything be too girly for a gay guy?

oh lawd lulz.

I hope the PC police and anyone with a modern or humanist perspective on gender identity and sexual identity spam the thread now with meme jpg's and gif's, as I'm too lazy to, but it must be said: that must be one of the most ignorant and close-minded statements to have ever graced SDN. You sir have earned a spot in the hall-of-fame.
