Too Girly?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Maybe a bit off topic. I'm moving into a new apartment and need to make my bedroom a study sanctuary for MS2. Too girly for a guy? I need some med student design diva advice.

classic.

lol.

is there anyway to five-star this thread?

dude, I can't imagine a guy going for one of those ridiculous 8 pillow w/ a huge spread bedsets. What do you even do w/ that thing? And, jesus, 225 dollars? WTF? You could get like 10 bottles of jim beam for that.

Way too girly

These days, a large plurality of guys act with no backbone.

so I would disagree with your assessment.

I don't think there's anything [other than maybe children's bed sheets] that can be called too girly. My bed set consists of white sheets with red roses on them, and i suppose they might be a little "girly" to some, they are super comfortable so sleep is nice. Those looks great, but are they comfortable?

It would be awesome to have 8 pillows. I would build a pillow fort.

oh lawd lulz.

I hope the PC police and anyone with a modern or humanist perspective on gender identity and sexual identity spam the thread now with meme jpg's and gif's, as I'm too lazy to, but it must be said: that must be one of the most ignorant and close-minded statements to have ever graced SDN. You sir have earned a spot in the hall-of-fame.

You're assuming that I'm homophobic.

Now tell me, who is the ignorant/close-minded one?

I asked a very direct question and I expect a direct answer like couple of people have given. No need to make mountains out of mole hills.

I'm claiming you to be ignorant of the broad spectrum of the human experience. Though, it can be easily argued that your comment/question is extremely homophobic, ignorant, and presumptuous.

Bro nobody said you're homophobic. However a statement like that (which actually came off in jest to me) is a bit on the ignorant side, you can't deny that. If I were to say "how does owning too few guns occur in the Midwest?", it would be using the stereotype that everyone in the Midwest is a gun-toting hick, which is certainly not true, and it comes off similarly. The same applies for gay men.

Isn't it interesting though that the media and our culture represents gay as whenever a man does something "girly" like if he talks about his emotions or comments on fashion? And it's not just happening out there; I'm sure many here have taken part in or been where stereotypes like these happen on a regular basis.

Overstock.com for bedding and that weird store with tuesday in the name for pillows and comforters. Buy single color stuff that's have on heavy discount. I got some killer deals.

Lol Tuesday Morning is an awesome store.

Also, most gay men in the media are represented as effeminate.

Hey now, not everyone that totes a gun is a hick. I am appalled at your insensitivity.

Hence why I used an egregious, obnoxious stereotype to illustrated my point bud 😉
