Interviewed on 11/17 and saw that little white envelope today! It was an acceptance letter attached with the deposit form dated 11/18. I could hardly believe it. Good luck to all the other applicants!
Yeah told me to talk to issa too. when i spoke with him, he told me mr joseph perez (the DOA) is the only one that discuss the matter w/ me. Of course he wasnt there. I was able to speak w/ him once, and i was brushed off w/ the holiday/deans out of office excuses
When you call, enter the extension for Mr. Perez. I spoke to him today. Good luck with this school and with your other interviews!
Thanks. I appreciate it. I just have bad luck. I tried 3 or 4 times today and didn't get a hold of him. I'm not gonna sit there calling every 5 minutes to find him. If I didn't have to wait 7 weeks (and counting) to get a decision, I wouldn't have to stalk him lol. I called yesterday, left a message and didn't get a call back. I don't what else to do at this point. You'd would think me and others in this same position are entitled to an official decision in a reasonable amount of time. Not left to assume we've been rejected. I'm happy for everyone that gets accepted, but by no means do I believe its fair for a school send out decisions to some people that interviewed 6 weeks after others who are still waiting.
How long does it take to get a secondary here? My AACOMAS app has been complete for over 2 months and this is the only school I haven't heard from them. Is this a school where it's basically secondary = interview?
I really feel for you Boss. If you haven't heard from Perez by Wed. of next week, I will be seeing him as I will be giving a tour that day to the interviewees and I will pull him aside and try to find out what's up.
Thanks, I finally spoke with him today. He told me I was wait-listed and I should get the letter soon. At least I know where I stand.
Quick question: what are the grades given for clerkships? ie Honors, Pass, etc?
I've been rooting for you! I'm glad you at least have an answer now, and hopefully it will turn into an acceptance. Were you given any explanation as to why it took them so long to get back to you?
Well, I guess posting on this thread helps more than calling. I just got a secondary invite today in the email. I was complete 10/6.
Since it's already November 23rd, what are my chances if I fill the secondary out? $100 misspent could have helped a lot during the holidays...
Edit: OMG it's $200. Even more pertinent now. I have two different interviews scheduled in the next couple of weeks, too.
I received my secondary on 11/9, the school received it on 11/15, and I got an interview invite on 11/17, so they were pretty quick in responding.
Also, there were 6 total interview dates to choose from (2 in Jan and 4 in Feb) so I'm pretty sure we'll be interviewing for more than just a waitlist spot.
I have a 25 (9B 8P 8V). What's wrong with a 9 bio?It all depends--I was complete in august and just got the interview invite a few days ago for the same spots. My mcat bio is a 9 though so that may be a reason for the delay. Regardless I declined; however, I would have went if I was invited earlier.
Nothing, but apparently its the most heavily weighted section at Touro. This was told to the early interviewees. I would imagine that most people who interviewed already had 10+.I have a 25 (9B 8P 8V). What's wrong with a 9 bio?
For what its worth, I got a 9 on my Bio section and received an interview. However my new scores came in after my interview and i bumped it up to 10, and I was waitlisted. Stats are only part of the story.
Interviewed 11/17, found out 11/21 (date marked as 11/18) - Accepted
I was the Indian guy from Mass (for those who met me at the 11/17 interview)
for those wondering:
MCAT: 29T
GPA: 3.37 (undergrad) 3.5 (grad)
Science GPA: 3.27 (undergrad)
Good Luck to everyone!

so apparently things are looking good for ppl like us who got wl early ya?
No, i wasn't told why. I didnt want to ask. I'm just happy to finally know. Uncertainty sucks. At least the wait-list is ranked based on when you get placed on it as opposed to stats. I think they just started wait-listing people so I should be high up there.
Reading last years post many things have changed in their process.
finally got an interview, but declined. Hopefully someone else gets this spot. I honestly don't know why it took so long. I had already been interviewed and accepted at 3 schools.
I have been accepted to NSU-COM and WVSOM as well, and wanted some insight onto Touro's pros and cons. I'm from NJ so I am somewhat familiar with the area (especially the many NJ rotation sites). I just want to know if these hospitals offer good education during rotations. Also, if anyone can list pros cons for this school it would help a lot, just about how good and friendly the professors are, what teaching style is used and anything else that will tell me more about the school. If anyone has a match list please share if you dont mind! Thanks.
anyone know when classes start?
Hey Guys- I am interviewing here this week. Can anyone who interviewed this year post some more specific interview example questions? Thanks!
I know, I have read all of them but some of the other forums are much more specific about actual questions asked so just thought I would throw it out there. If anyone has more helpful info that would be great.
so... just looking from the google streetview, I can't seem to find the actual entrance to the main building. any directional tip from those that have already visited?
When I selected my date, it took them 5 hours to respond to me. Good luckjust received an interview invite today and there were 3 dates in december still on the invite. Are they pretty quick to email you back after you email Dr. Sow which date works best?
Tell me about yourself (then asked more questions about the things I mentioned).
Why medicine?
Why Touro? This turned into talking about healthcare in Harlem and in the US.
What questions do you have for us?
Pretty basic stuff. Most of the conversation spun off things that I said about myself. Overall, I thought it was pretty relaxed and I actually enjoyed talking to the interviewers. GL!
