Hi all,
First a a little about me.
American citizen
MD, graduated from UTMB
Completed Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency
Board certified in Internal Medicine
2 years in practice as a Hospitalist. Have Colorado and Texas medical license. Pretty good experience regarding critical care and procedures as well.
In 3-5 years I am entertaining moving my family to Europe to practice as a physician. I love practicing medicine int he US but the move is mostly based on lifestyle and wanting to live in european mainland.
Does anybody have any advice regarding where is the best place in terms of ease of transition, salary, benefits and overall lifestyle? I don't speak any other languages but I am willing to learn french or spanish. I've heard Sweden and Netherlands are good places to practice also but I don't know how much of a language barrier I'm going to have to bridge.
Has anybody made the US to EU leap?
