Tufts c/o 2018 Applicants

I had originally planned to apply to Tufts, then decided not to ($), but have again decided to go ahead and apply 🙂

So, I started the application this afternoon and I'm loving the essay questions!

I'm a little worried about whether I actually talk about anything useful in my "fun" essay (the one where you pick from 3 prompts). I picked the 15 minutes of fame one and I don't really know what they want from me other than seeing how well I can articulate a product of my imagination ahaha

Haha Me too! I go about my days thinking of responses to all of these supplemental app questions! I'm actually visiting Tufts today and hope to get the low-down 😉

That's what they're going for! I had a file review with Tufts before being accepted off the waitlist, and we discussed this essay (I did the "who would you rather have dinner with one"). They said they had really liked mine, as I did it more in the style of an essay vs. a research paper, and they were able to learn alot more about me based on my creativity. 😳

The admissions staff is so freaking friendly. Seriously - you will feel like you just made a new friend, or at least that's what I felt like after a phone appointment with one of them haha. Have fun!

They're seriously awesome. When I didn't even get an interview after being wait listed the year before, they were so nice to me when calling to set up a file review that I actually cried a little. They also were very accommodating when I had to reschedule my interview because I was afraid my flight would be cancelled in MD due to bad weather.

Everyone was great! I was nervous when I first got there, but quickly felt at home 😎 The campus is beautiful, the town is nice and the hospitals are impressive. I could definitely see myself there if I get the opportunity!

Working on the application right now! I'm super excited! 🙂 Have people just been putting veterinary animal experience/ animal research experience only on page 4 of the application, or have you all been putting all animal experience? They way they word it is kind of confusing...

The title says animal/vet/health sciences..so I would put down everything. It's tough bc there is only room for 6 entries. You can always shoot them an email too. They respond fast and are super friendly.

I started my app like a month ago, but stopped to work on VMCAS. Kudos to you!!

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know if there any way we can have our letters of recommendation submitted before submitting the whole application?

I'm not finished with the essays, but I'd like to give my evaluators the opportunity to submit both VMCAS and Tufts at the same time.

I don't see why that would be an issue. My recs will also most likely be in way before my app...they already have my test scores. Call and ask to be sure, but I would imagine that to be the norm 😉

I emailed them and they definitely said to include all animal/research experience! Also, if you run out of room, they said to use the extra information page to put down more experience. As long as you have an appropriate header you should be good! 🙂
