Good luck guys...I'm sure there will be more movement end of this week or early the coming weeks. Schools are still sending out final results so movement should be quicker! I just got some final rejections today. haha. Medical schools are so cruel.

tell me about it... i haven't gotten any post-interview news from two other schools i've interviewed with.... it's not a good sign is it?! :scared:

I can't wait to look back from the third floor gross anatomy lab this fall on south campus and make fun of myself for my obscenely positive outlook. :laugh:

Hey guys,

Just figured I'd fill you in on an update I just received. My pre-med advisor talked with Mr. Rosso today about the chances of them getting down to me on the WAITLIST, and Mr. Rosso said that his estimates were between 65-70%. Still not perfect but the odds seems to be improving. Last week when I had sent Mr. Rosso an email he said I had between a 55-60% chance of getting off the list. I'm not really sure where I am in the middle third since i'm not aware of ever being bumped up from the bottom 1/3 or dropped down from the top 1/3 but I thought I thought this update I got might be encouraging to others still on this list.

...On an entirely different note, I was shadowing a transplant surgeon today and got to go into the OR see a kidney transplant which I thought was pretty awesome! The experience was really cool so I felt the need to share!

thanks Medee...that made me feel so much better after having no movement these past three days. I love how its going from 50% to 55-60% to now 65-70%. Keep upping it Mr. Rosso 👍

That is so cool that you got to see a transplant! I once got to see a liver transplant -- pretty amazing, huh??
 
I hope this waitlist keeps moving. I got into NYMC and just found out its going to cost me $250,000 to go for 4 years. Come on Buffalo, I need some instate love after year 1!!!!

Ive began binge eating since the waitlist stopped moving.. hurry up and MOOOOOVEEE.. sigh.. i can't even exercise for a few weeks since i tore ligaments in my ankle playing ball. I need good luck, baby :luck::luck:
 
Not to dissapoint but i emailed my phone #s today and asked about my chances and mr. rosso said 50%. Im in the middle.

edit: shouldnt have asked should have been happy thinking 70% 🙂

I just got an email from Mr. Rosso with subject line as " You have been added to the SMBS-INCOMING-STUDENTS-FALL-2007-LIST list" 😱 Does this mean I'm in? The email was received at 12:50pm today. I wanted to call Mr. Rosso to confirm it but it's past 4pm. 😕

Please..... someone please.... tell me that I'm in so I can start jumping up and down!!!

Indeed, it was pretty amazing! I've got to admit I was a little uneasy at first and kinda felt like passing out, but eventually i got comfortable watching, and it was really cool! Everything was done laproscopically, before the actual removal of the kidney.

It looks as though Medee should be in blue, not orange, seeing as though he was always in the middle third, so whoever knows how to do the list thing, might want to change it. Or not. I'm not neurotic or anything.🙄

I really hope I get something by the end of next week...I'm getting very concerned about my housing situation since I only have 8 -9 weeks to sell my house and put a down payment on another house in Buffalo. Knowing exactly where I will be will help alot. Wishing the middle thirders the best of luck in hearing something by the end of this coming week!
 
So today is my birthday. I was so excited to be able to celebrate it because for once in my life my birthday was not on a final. But, now I am working on my AMCAS 2008 and packing cuz I need to move out of my apt. Birthdays are so overrated LOL.

I'm hoping for a lot of movement this week. That would be a great bday present :laugh::laugh::luck::luck:

I'm driving in tomorrow (tues) and probably will just be there until thursday morning. It's a long drive so I probably mostly have to do my house-hunting all on wednesday.

I'm actually staying in Niagara Falls (long story), but I guess that's not so bad since my family won't be as bored :laugh:

You are officially in the "lower third" of our wait list. We are currently in the "upper third" moving down sporadically. Your chances of acceptance are around 20-25%. Best wishes.
