How much you want to bet that we'll all be sitting here stressing out all weekend, then we get emails on Monday "sorry it's taking longer than we'de planned".
I wouldn't be surprised honestly, all of the schools seem to be taking extra long and sending "actually we'll tell you later!" emails instead of real updates

You know...I wouldn’t be surprised either, but I feel like Davis has been pretty on schedule with their timelines so maybe it will be Monday. I just hope that if invitations do end up being late that they are sent out before thanksgiving.

Just wanted to pop in and say best of luck to everyone and most importantly breathe! I know this is super stressful times on top of applying to vet school, but what is meant to be will be so just enjoy this time! I was in your position last year.... minus the covid... but just know you are still awesome regardless of any results you receive this application cycle! 🙂 Wish everyone the best of luck!!!!

Congrats to everyone who received an invite!

And for anyone that did not, I know it hits hard (even if you mentally prepared for it), but try to keep your heads up!!

I've been on both ends of the spectrum (did not receive an invite my first cycle) so I've been through the highs, lows, and everything in between. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need to talk at all 🙂

Got my invite! Super nervous about the CASPer. Does anyone know if they’re basing our admissions decisions from this point on 100% on the test, like they normally do with interviews? I didn’t see anything in the message.

I'm nervous too about sending in a test result that I can't see. That's my major complaint on CASPer.

IS invitation offer! Weird that we’ll not be able to meet each other in this next phase, but hopefully we will soon! 🤞🏻

I have a dilemma that I wish someone could help me figure out...

I'm OOS with an interview invite this year. I think I did reasonable in CASPer but I guess there's really no way to find out. I still have one pre-requisite (biochemistry) to fulfill if I get an admission. I can either take it in a semester school, but if I get a rejection by Jan. 31, I can quit the class with a 70% refund and a withdraw in my transcript; or I can take it in a quarter school that starts their spring quarter in March, but if I get an admission but cannot successfully register for that class (I will be graduate non-degree, lowest priority in registering for classes) I'll be screwed.

What do you think? I looked through Davis' admission rate past years, it looks like almost all OOS interviewed were subsequently admitted. Any idea why they rejected the rest few? My science GPA is 3.93, last 45 units GPA is 3.92, both lower than average for past years Davis OOS admitted, GRE quant 164 83%. I don't believe these are very competitive scores, will they look back on these after I enter the interview phase and decide to reject me?

From what I have heard, and I work at the UCD VMTH and are close with some admissions. Your GPA and such only determines if you get an interview. After all the people have been chosen for an interview, then your interview is the only thing that determines if you get accepted into the program or not. Of course this year it might be different, but that is how it has been done for awhile.

Hey! So from what I know (please everyone don’t shoot the messenger) admissions decisions will be based solely off of interview scores (in this case CASPer), just like in years past. They only factor in gpa & gre to for the initial ranking to decide who to invite for interviews.

As far as the course you need to take I think it would be appropriate to sign up as you said and withdraw if you don’t get accepted and don’t need it. I took a bunch of classes through UCSD extension online between my first and second cycle. I believe they offer a reasonably priced biochem that’s on quarter system and you can register for classes up until they start. Because it’s an extension program I didn’t have to deal with registration priority issues & what not.

Hi guys! Congrats to all that received an invite 🙂

I was just wondering if anyone signed up for their casper test date already or have any information on how/when we sign up? I know the email said that we would get further info on signing up soon, but just wanted to make sure I didn't miss an important email or anything! Thanks ^_^

I haven’t signed up for my test date yet because in their message they said they’re having delays with setting up Casper for us. They said within the next week now we should hear back on more details.

Congrats on your interview invite. Best of luck. to you. Once you are invited for in interview your application is essentially "thrown out." What this means is that from this point forward you along with everyone that received an interview are on a level playing field and will be ranked according to your Casper scores. The school will not dig up your application going forward to determine admission eligibility unless you, for instance, don't complete your outstanding biochem prerequisite and they need to check prereq eligibility .

Also, it's important to keep in mind that while the majority of OOS students did receive an acceptance letter, this does mean that they were accepted just because they were OOS. Whether or not you are admitted will depend on your individual performance and nothing else. Hope this helps!

I also realize this question has received multiple replies but it never hurts to drive the point home ;-)

Anybody hear back about CASPer sign ups yet? I'm getting stressed 😭

Just got a message in the portal that gives instruction about CASPer! Check your portal message

Anyone else testing tomorrow? I picked the earlier day in case of tech issues, but now I'm so nervous!

Hi all!
I just thought this would be helpful! I contacted someone on the admissions team and they told me that the score on CASper will be the only determining factor on whether you get a spot into the DVM program or not! I know there was some confusion on that, so I hope this helps! Good luck everyone!

New update on portal, "SJT Assessment Scores Received". This means my CASPer result was delivered and all I need to do now is wait for the final decision?

Correct. I got the same message. I think we’ll be notified before January 31.

Weird mine hasn't been updated.. guess it depends on the speed of the people rating our CASPer test
I took mine in October for other schools, so I only needed to send in the score once the portal was set up.

My portal hasn't updated yet either. I took the CASPer at 12/10 and the score was just sent a couple days ago.

Does anyone think we will hear earlier than January 31st? I know the last date to take the CASPer is January 12th, and won't they be ranking solely based on those scores?

It takes a couple weeks for CASPer to process and send the scores. If anything, I'm worried about a delayed decision from Davis.

Anyone attending the info session today? Do we need to dress up?

I’m attending but I doubt they’ll have us all put our camera on since that can slow down the zoom meeting. So I don’t think our clothes should matter?

I am attending but since there are 240 people I doubt they will allow anyones cameras to be on
