p.s. I think it's really senseless how they just don't send out all their rejections at once! 😡
Basically, most every year, they have set times for their interviews (like over a week or so)
right when I said "over a week or so" I meant at leat one week usually longer. Good example of why I sucked at verbal GRE (the reason I was told I was rejected the first time for Davis) and when I retook and scored lower in only the verbal section the second rejection from them was not a surprise...It sounds this year like they're interviewing for a longer stretch of time. In the invite they said interviews will run from Feb 25 to March 18.
She said that the interview invites were sent out all at once. A few alternate applications are kept for the unlikely event that a large portion of interviews do not go well.
Last year I received a letter in April, AFTER I had to ask for it, so I guess the rejection EMAIL I received this afternoon is an improvement. How nice, they put it in pdf format and everything!
Forgive the sarcasm, its been a long week. I hope for those of you who did not get an email its because you are still being considered! Good luck~
also, i have to take one more gchem lab.....do you know if i dont take it, and i get accepted...would they really care? my friend in medical school said they dont really check up on that. but hey, thats med school.
does anyone know of anyone who got an interview after the initial batch of invitations for interviews in the past? i have to yet to receive a rejection or invitation.......im assuming im in some sort of limbo?

Unfortunately I think it may be a what-goes-around-comes-around kind of thing... Davis doesn't interview a huge excess of people (if you get an interview your chances of being accepted are better than 50%). But there are students who are offered interviews and wait until the very last minute to decline (or even worse, schedule an interview then back out just beforehand). Then again, if you're that student with an interview invite to a school that's not at the top of your list, you're likely to feel that you have all the right in the world to take your sweet time deciding whether or not to go.i think they are stringing applicants along knowingly and that sucks.
the third link down on the first page refers you to interview information. then scroll down to see the questions. the same information is on their website.
For those who have had interviews this week, how did they go?? Were the interviewers scary or were they nice/laid-back?
I'm so nervous, I've got mine on the 11th 😱
I hope the interviews went well, and good luck to everyone! 🙂

I got the astrological event question as well, and when I kept answering the subquestions he kept pressing until I couldn't answer, but then after that he just said "I wanted to see how much you would answer before you didn't know" or something like that.![]()
Ok, maybe it's just me, but were they talking about astrology here, or astronomy? Because...the first one just seems so whacky to talk about in an interview...
The second. Sorry, brain freezing. 🙂
Haha, ok, thanks. I was trying to imagine how one would respond to that... "So, I'm a leo, and my horoscope said that Mars would be moving into my fifth house this month, so I can expect a lot of tumult, so that's one major event..."😛

In my case, he definitely said "astrological." I asked him to clarify and he repeated "astrological events." That TOTALLY threw me off! I responded that I didn't follow astrology so I didn't know...and then when he named them I realized that he meant ASTRONOMY not ASTROLOGY! Yeah, I felt dumb. Oh well. This is from the girl who just found out what sign I was a couple months ago 🙂
