Hello Guys,

I don't see a thread open for this year's cycle. I figured I create one.
Who's applying to this program? I submitted my application on 01/10/2016, confirmed by e-mail that all my supporting documents are in. Now, just playing the waiting game.

Hey, as long as its in before midnight of January 24th, that's all that matters.
I'm not sure when we'll hear back either. Website did say we should hear back by end of February. It's February 1st now! 28 more days!

My application status got changed to "Program Qualification Review" today. Did yours got changed too?

My application status says, "Program Qualification Review" as well. I believe that the first step is "application review" to ensure that you have submitted all of your materials. And if you pass that round, they change it to "program qualification review." So no worries if you haven't had it changed yet, they are probably still going through the applications.

From last years thread... I think I saw people getting invites in two different dates... not sure if that would be the case now.

The earliest I saw interview invites from last year's thread was around March 10-11. I e-mailed the committee last month asking if there's an expected date we should hear back from if we're invited for interviews and they responded "no exact dates. It depends when the adcoms review them".

This year's thread is pretty dead compared to previous years. I wonder if everyone that applied uses SDN.

It actually took me a while to find this thread. I kept typing "UCSD post bacc 2016" and nothing would come up. I assumed there wasn't one for this year.
Maybe that's the reason?

I'm trying to change the title of the thread to UCSD Post Bacc 2016 or something similar, but it's not letting me. I remembered there was an option to do that, but I can't find it anymore.

EDIT: I added some taggs. It should be searchable now in the search engine. Hopefully this can help people find this thread more.

Mine too. It hasn't change since 02/04.
So far, one person has heard back regarding an interview yesterday. From past forums, the program's decisions has been a few weeks behind. I guess, just be patient, though it is hard to.

I submitted my UC Consortium app. Its marked as complete since 02/09. I have yet to hear back from any schools. =/

Wow I'm really lagging on that one. Anyone know if the UCSD and UC Consortium apps are on standard or rolling admissions? I would definitely need to get my act together if they were rolling but I don't think they are.

UC Consortium is on rolling admissions. According to past forums, people tend to hear back around Mid March/Early April-ish. As long as you send it in before the deadline of March 16, it should be fine. UC Irvine has a priority deadline of March 2 though.

I'm wondering the same thing. I don't know if they have sent out all interview invites or will they be sending out more in the next few days? It's already late February too. It seems like they are on schedule though.

Oh okay well that's good to know, I mean I did submit my app on like the 23rd or 24th so if they're reviewing apps in order of submission then I guess I would definitely be later by definition. Still, it's stressful.

Thanks for all the feedback! Based on what people have said, I'm assuming that they sent out the interview invitations last Tuesday and are waiting to send something out to the rest of us.

@kmp32001 I totally understand if you don't want to, but is there any chance you could share (or DM me) your statistics? I'm just curious how I compare to you since you've already received an interview invite. It would be much appreciated!

I hope not, I emailed them just asking if all interview invites are sent out at once or if they have more to send out. I'll let everyone know what they say if I get an email back. My stats are sGPA 3.53 cGPA 3.48, MCAT 8PS/9VR/9BS. I thought my stats would be pretty strong for a postbac but who knows...

I also sent an email and they've yet to reply, as well. I spoke with my med school advisor and they mentioned that in previous years, the trend has been invitations sent out in 2 to 3 maximum waves with priority to those who submitted first. Considering the above individual who already heard back submitted their application very close to the deadline, it's really unpredictable at this point. My advisor also mentioned none (about 10 of us applied) from my University have heard anything regarding this specific program. They also reminded me that every program is different and look for different qualities in their prospective students. We were not in the first wave which, unfortunately, is a red flag. We haven't got an invite, but we also haven't been rejected either. Keep positive, but it is wise to consider alternate programs/options at this point.

My stats are 3.32 sgpa 3.46 cgpa I've got tons of volunteer / community outreach with undeserved populations local and abroad. I am also considered a disadvantaged student.
