Nothin today...I spent the entire day at school thinking bout nothin else...and when I got home, i found 4 letters and 2 packages for one of my tenants (from her boyfriend) and zip for me. 🙁 i live in the bay so i assume it'll be here tomorrow!! seriously, the mail shouldn't take that long. unless chocobo is right, and they really didn't send it at all.
 
well, if they drop it off in the internal office mailbox -- think "office space" -- it takes another day for that batch to get down to the post office.
 
My friend had a status change on 3/1/06 and got their letter here in San Francisco on 3/4/06. So here is hoping that everyone in California that had a status change on 3/3/06 gets their letter today. Just like chocobo I have thought about every possible scenario for when the letters went out.
 
So I guess everyone on SDN is waiting to hear back from the 3rd batch (3/3/06)?

Is the second batch 3/1/06???

I think the 3/1 status change might have been for post-secondary decisions. There is a whole thread on people who received pre-interview decision letters. Hoping the 3/3 batch is all acceptances!!!
 
Yes all of the 3/1/06 status change people I have heard of have been post- secondary, not post-interview.
 
Ahhh... I misread your post...I thought the guy had interviewed (who had a change on 3/1/06). I predict letters come in today and am down with what rosiemary said, hoping for all acceptances!

damn i'm really sorry to hear that. 🙁 i know this sounds lame, but keep up hope!! i know when you do get in, you'll bring A LOT of spirit to the school! (i'll know in about 4 hours whether i'll be waiting with you or not)

Bummer man... Im in LA too so Ill probably get a bad letter tonight when I get home. :scared: So the first batch was acceptances, second was not...

Sorry about that, cHocoBo - waitlists suck hard.

I hope this doesn't mean all of the letters sent out on the 3rd were waitlists... :scared:

haha thanks guys. its fine. i'm clinging onto the thought that at least it wasnt a rejection. i think this waiting process is refining my character in many ways so thats ONE good thing im getting out of this.

gluck to the rest of the 3/3 batch-ers.

btw i dont remember this off the top of my head but does anyone know if UCLA has different waitlists?

Bay Area and still nothing! Ok well I can stop stressing now.. I'll just let it sneak up on me.. I think its less painful when you don't see it coming.. or does that just have to do w/ needles?
 
My status finally changed. I interviewed 12/6 and my letter was sent, allegedly, 3/7. This is my first post on SDN but I have been following this particular thread very closely. I just have to say thanks to all those who have been calling the admissions office for the rest of us. You get a thumbs up- 👍 Good luck to everyone.
 
FINAL DECISION LETTER SENT 3/7

Oh my. Naturally, when I've given up checking obsessively, my page changes. Also note that admissions office secretaries either know nothing or have been instructed to tell the same half-truth to every student. Here's hoping for the best ... maybe I can finally be in the same city as my girlfriend next year ...

status change : 3/3

received my letter today...Waitlisted. I'm a bit disappointed but best of luck to the 3/7 batch...i'm guessing there should be some if not all acceptances in that batch :luck:
 
Well... let's start speculating 3/7 people. Based on the patterns so far, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever. Except for the fact that I'm in the same batch as kirahexa, who got into WashU. Score.
 
Hey Kirexhana- I thought you were the other guy in my group. Congrats on your acceptance and good luck. You would have a tough decision on your hands.
 
Dear SDNers,

Alas, no news today. But judging from what we've seen so far, I bet I've been waitlisted. That's all right! And I'm almost serious when I say that...It's better knowing than waiting for each passing day to end (so the mail can come again, that is).

Hope the 3/7 batch is acceptances!!
 
Status change!!! My decision letter was mailed today!! 😀

Please please please let UCLA love me as much as I love it.
 
3/3 batch... got my waitlist.... huh... so first batch was acceptances, second was waitlists... third is? Que imperial death march?

Hmmm kinda pissed... my interviewer said he was so pleased he was going to recommend me for a scholarship...lol oh well.

Now to think of something creative to write to convince them why I should get an acceptance....Wonder what the odds of getting off the waitlist are.

Guess the pain of med school apps is finally over... 13 apps, 5 interviews, 1 acceptance. Good luck to the rest of you.

well, considering how erratic the UCLA adcom seems to be, the letters might very well say "HAHA, FOOLED YOU! Final Letters were not sent! Recheck your status page! :laugh:" but good luck to us all!
 
I live in Vegas, status change on 3/3, no word yet.

Didn't someone call and post earlier that this batch contains all types of letters? Haha, I'm still clinging on to the slim chance of it being better than a wait-list...
 
Status change 3/3, WAITLISTED...I want to cry....

Any historical data how many get off waitlist from previous year(s)?

when did you guys interview? mine was just a few weeks ago. that's mighty fast for a rejection considering how long everything else took.

I also interviewed the first week of february. My interview was on 2/6. Did we interviewe together?
 
Is the outlook really so bleak that nobody's talking at all? I, for one, am still hoping for an acceptance. Anyone else?

There has to be more acceptances, otherwise UCLA would be a non-rolling school...Good luck everyone (both waiting to hear back and those on the waitlist)!!! :luck:
 
Schools have to send out enough acceptances to fill half of their incoming class by March 15. I'm hoping that some of those are in the 3/7 batch!
 
For those of you who got a status change on 3/7, what do you feel like your chances were post-interview? Go on... try and express those complex feelings and emotions in two words or less. I was 'cautiously optimistic.'

I am glued to this thread, even tho nothing is happening. I keep feeling like my 3/7 batch fate will somehow be revealed by someone in the know or something. Bah.
 
I'll probably get it first, cuz i'm in LA. oh no! i have nothing to go by!
