yo dr. boo,DrBooBoo said:Do you guys think its good to start sending updates right away after getting a waitlist or waiting two or three weeks until it gets closer for the committee to start looking for waitlisters??? ---cuz im pretty sure theyre not gonna start looking at us until after they look at all the people they still have to interview...
what do you think long john?? you seem to be pretty knowledgable about the whole process....
my recommendation would be to wait a few weeks before sending anything. Digest where you are, reflect on the situation for like a week. Then get to writing your stuff. Treat the writing as if you were writing your personal statement. This is your last chance to sell yourself (be happy, you were given an additional chance unlike some who have been rejected). Go through multiple drafts and try to get it in before the end of march. they have to start reviewing waitlisters in April if they want to know who to accept in May and you want your file to complete when waitlisters go for review.
Stuff to write:
Letter of Intent (crucial!)
update letters (could help if you have new stuff to add) - this could be part of your letter of intent
letters of rec from professors which weren't part of your original application (if you know them well enough that they could write you good stuff).
Good luck,
John
