Hello!

I was fortunate enough to get into these three schools, but now I am having difficulty choosing. I did not expect to get into UCSF since I thought I failed the interview so it wasn't even on my mind until 2 days ago. Specializing interests me but I am not dead set on it

UCSF

pros:

-p/f
-high specialization rates
-san fran has nice weather not to hot not too cold
-can get in-state tuition after a year(correct me if I am wrong)

cons
-san fran is expensive
-no family out there

extra info:
I honestly do not know how their clinical skills rank. I think that have a good community aspect

UPENN
pros
-scholarship
-more modern technology
-good general dentistry curriculum
con
Graded vs pass fails for other 2
-still expensive

Columbia

Pros
- med school curriculum
-nyc is a beautiful city
-good transportation
Cons
-expensive
-apparently not as good clinically but I would like to hear more opinions

I would greatly appreciate more pros and and cons of each schools outside of price, two of them are similarly priced.

UCSF, should be way cheaper than the other two if you can switch to in state tuition and still good options for specializing.

None of these will make you a substantially better general dentist than the other. Ivies might be slightly better for specializing but not worth a difference >$100k. Weather is nicer in SF too depending on how much you like or dislike snow. Unless Penn or Columbia is really close to family ties/friends/support it’d be hard to not pick UCSF imo.

Washington Heights, where Columbia med/dental are, is not as nice and exploration-friendly, unfortunately.
