i am dying. may 15th can't get here fast enough.
umass is killing me too. i didn't even apply. hell im not even eligible to apply. but from what i gather they're slow as f'ing hell. University of Massachusetts at Tortoise School of Medicine is what it should be called.
I heard that the Slowskis from the Comcast commercials are on the adcom.
I am dying too. To make matters worse I was just accepted to a medical school in Ireland which might sound cool at first except that a $9000 deposit is due at the end of next week. UMass is my first choice by far. So, now I don't know what to do...accept the other spot and lose $9000 if I get into UMass or gamble, decline that spot and maybe not get into UMass and be left with nothing. $9000 is all my life savings plus some that I'd have to borrow from my parents. UMass is killing me.

so in my boredom this evening (in an attempt to avoid studying for the MCAT) I perused last years UMass thread and gathered the following:
Apparently they are pretty consistent, so here is the timeline we might be looking at.
Snail mail WAITLIST letters: received sporadically from 4/14-5/4
Snail mail REJECTIONS: most received 5/3, but some as late as 5/8
ACCEPTANCES off the waitlist: many phone calls and emails received 4/17 (a wednesday) through 4/22 (friday)
All Spots FULL: apaprently someone received a letter on 6/30 saying that all spots were full, detailing some things to improve in his app., and encouraging him to reapply
Updating Waitlist?: someone received a letter on 7/4 saying the waitlist was being updated? and asking if the person was still interested (not sure what this means)
So looks like waitlist letters should start trickling in soon. Be on the look out!
Good luck to us all!
But this doesn't include people who might just be getting an acceptance letter and no waitlist offer....is there any way to know about that? Because I've been told that if you aren't hearing waitlist offers or rejections...then you might just be on hold to get an acceptance once someone drops their offer
"Have you heard from UMass yet?"
No!! I'll let you know what I hear. PLEASE GET OFF MY BACK. Thank you, friends and family, for caring. I appreciate your love and support. But it kills me to be reminded multiple times a day that, yes, I'm STILL waiting to hear back.
Ugh. Thought some of you could relate...
Ok guys...a little bit of light for you all at the end of this horrible tunnel
I was told that all decisions should be made either by this Friday or no later then next Wednesday
hope that helps!

i thought this was supposed to be the big day! anyone?
It doesn't appear that today is all that big. Le sigh.
back to obsessively checking my status page! but it's nice to know everyone else is doing the same.
I would assume that if a waitlist had gone out, they would have let the rest of us off the hook and sent rejections too.
I also called today and she told me that I should expect to receive a letter in the mail by the middle of may. back to waiting...
This waiting is gnawing at my soul.
I just got waitlisted via snailmail. The waiting continues. ARRRRRRRGH.
Hey quepasa, out of curiosity, when did you interview and where do you live in MA? Thanks!

Has your online status changed or does it still say a decision has yet to be made?
anyone here interview in november and get off the waitlist?
no change online, no letters home...
