I'm not sure how I feel about going to my interview now...

Does pressing the "I accept the invitation" button allows you to make the deposit online?
Yup. It should take you to the deposit page (or at least to a page that will take you to the deposit page 🙂). Congrats, and good luck to everyone else!!
.... my interview in November...
when did you interview
I interviewed on 11/8...probably same day as cstar, and I have not heard yet. Going nuts right now!! Crap shoooooooot!!
I'd say just try to concentrate on your other schools now, and hopefully UMMS will surprise you with good news. What else can ya do??!! 😕
Other schools? This is the only school that interviewed me...
Hey um if people that have been accepted could post some of their basic stats (college attended, gpa/science gpa, mcat, other relevant info) that would be great! It would be nice to have some (very) rough indication of what it takes
you could also check out mdapps for umass. it indicates the applicants who were interviewed, accepted, waitlisted, and declined. it provides a bunch of stats.Hey um if people that have been accepted could post some of their basic stats (college attended, gpa/science gpa, mcat, other relevant info) that would be great! Right now, it's between Dartmouth and NYU. Harvard, Yale, and Mt. Sinai are in the mix if they EVER get back to me. 😛. NYU has always been my first choice, but the "alternatives" are favorable. UMass is a great school and it'll be sorely missed, but staying in MA any longer doesn't sit well with me. Ideally, I'd go to Nova so I could go surfing but eh...it poses too much of a distraction. Thanks man! 😉 where are you planning to go?

I'll send you a message since this is a UMass thread.Nova is an osteopathic school, no? Do you prefer the DO concept over allopathic? It is interesting...

UMass takes approximately 50-75% of their class from the waitlist. So, a waitlist isn't such a bad thing at UMass.Wow! Interview in March...late. I've said it before, I can't imagine a school interviewing specifically for waitlist candidates. Simply doesn't make much sense to me, but that's my opinion. If you're a great candidate, I'm sure they'll let you in...if only good, maybe you'll get a spot on the waitlist. Who knows. Best of luck though!

Thanks!!!i gave up my spot for one of you brave souls. good luck.
Thanks for the encouraging news! UMass is my only interview (completed criminally late and I completely deserve it), so I'm really hoping it will come through. Having grown up in Worcester I'm not really psyched about the location, but being three years out of school, I'd rather not have to apply again.
Thanks!!!
That was great of you to relinquish your spot @ UMass .... it is so frustrating playing the waiting game.
Best of luck wherever you end up!
Didn't want to get into it, but UMass only gives straight acceptances to the first 100 students accepted.
...no problem...I knew about this, but didn't realize there was SO much movement off the waitlist. Not that I should even think about the waitlist--I haven't even interviewed yet!
And also, thanks for giving up your spot...
Just thought I'd give some encouragement in this thread. I'm a third year here at UMass, and I know the acceptance mailings are anxiety-inducing to say the least. For myself, I interviewed in early December and got my letter at the beginning of March-- a three month wait. Many members of my class had even longer turnaround times than that (November to June is the longest one I can think of offhand).
Also, I wanted to dispel the rumor I saw earlier in the thread about all UMass Amherst students getting interviews. Having gone to that school, I know for a FACT that not everyone from there gets interviews at UMass med. However, there IS a very high representation from the school in every class (I think there are 10 in mine), partly due to the sheer numbers of applicants, and also I suspect that many Mass residents at "elite" colleges go on to "elite" medical schools rather than UMass.
If any of this year's applicants have questions or concerns, feel free to PM me. I didn't do as much advising or essay editing as in previous years, but I still like to help the people in the applicant crop that are smart enough to use SDN as a resource.
4:13am...must be studying.
