Did anyone interview at the Univ of Missouri-Kansas City program, and if so, what did you think of it?

UMKC is a nice little program with a very private practice, private business edge to it. The program is not well known, but the residents seemed exceedingly happy and it had a close, family atmosphere to it.

Surgical numbers are good, they have access to the county hospital and a resident clinic there. The nice part is that the county hospital is directly attached to the Eye Foundation so that you have access to all the faculty should you need them.

Also the Eye Foundation is a nice little facility with dedicated ORs and new equipment ect...

So, if you are looking for a small program with a solid emphasis on clinical ophthalmology (as opposed to research) and nice facilities, it's a good place to consider.🙂
