Congratulations, Kritenoel! That was quick! Didn't you just interview last week!

Hey congrats on your acceptance Kritenoel.

Thanks AntGod22! I have to admit that I wasn't sure what to think when you heard earlier this week. I actually called this morning to see where I stood, and it came this afternoon.

Congrats to you as well! 🙂

Lol the noyl reason I knew so fast was I called them to ask them because I had ainterview at LECOM and I didnt want to go to it if I got into UNECOM. SO the lady told me and I flipped out, and was so happy. She told me I would get the letter on like tuesday or wednesday since monday is a holiday and I live much further from the school then you do. SO you defintily gonna go there?

LOL! that explains is all right! I thought you'd gotten the letter - that makes me feel better!

Yup, I'm headed there this summer/fall - It's been my first choice from the beginning and it feels good to be done with the application process.

Sarah - yeah, it was quick, but they tend to move fast. They met and decided that afternoon! I'll email you 😉

Any new acceptances to UNE? 🙂 If so, congrats!

I've started to think about my options for living down there (I'm in central Maine right now) and how the timing of working in public school and money (or lack thereof) and med school will work out.....I wish I could wrap my mind around how all of it is going to fall into place - I know it will, but right now I have no idea how it's all going to work out!

Hey
Just found out I was accepted on Friday.

I've got a few other acceptances and am debating between Nova and Une. Any current students have some advice? After reading the residency match list for UNE I have to say it is pretty good (i'm considering PM&R). Is their any research opps on campus?

\thanks😀

Anybody find any good housing yet in maine ?
Was wondering when one should start looking.

Hi, AntGod22

I am thinking of sharing with one of you guys when I get chance to see you all during orientation. I just looked at Maine Sunday newspapers last week, and I collected some informations (including their phone numbers) for room to be shared by home owners around the areas; and most of them are in the range of 475 to 525 a month...I think sharing on the campus housing probably the best "money+gas saving" and "having fun" for me. How about you?

😎

Sounds good to me. I wouldnt mine sharing with another person. I would only want one roomate though. i think 3 people gets a little crowded, What about you? Where you coming from? Im in NYC right now.

bump !!! 😀 😛 🙂 🙁 😍 +pissed+

I'm from Massachusetts; so I am just thinking that we all should get our hands together to find some good and cheap places around the area.

that was quite a dramatic "bump" AntGod!

I've been checking the paper and have seen several possibilities for affordable living for 2-3 people. I thought about looking into some of them now, but I think I'm going to wait until it's closer to June/July. I'm looking for something that can be year-round so it rules out waterfront housing for me!

Hi everyone..
My Fiance and I were in Maine this past weekend looking for houses. Since I've gotten my acceptance in December, we started to plan on buying a townhouse there. The townhouse the we saw was actually part of a duplex. We got to thinking and decided to just go ahead and buy the duplex. One part of the duplex is where we would live and the other part will be for rent. So I thought of all the med students who are looking for rentals and offer it to you. I talked to some realtors in Maine and I was told that there is a lack of rental places in Maine (I'm not too sure about this since I didn't really look for rentals).

Anyway, we haven't finalized the paperwork yet, but thought I'd post this just to give you guys some idea. The place is a two bedroom, 1/5 bath, livingroom, kitchen, small dining room and basement. The driveway can fit two cars, but no enclosed garage. We havent decided on how much the rent would be, since we haven't finalized all the paperwork. But it would look like around 800-1000 per month. Since I know med students dont always have the most money (believe me, I know.. hehehhe), it would most likely be 800 per month for the townhouse. Anyway, I'll keep you all updated. But If you are interested and would like me to keep you in mind, you can always email me [email protected]. (I forgot to mention that they townhouse is in saco, which is about 10-15 min from UNE)

Take care.. by the way, portland, me (only 20 min from biddeford) is absolutely beautiful, even when its freezing cold. They have some really great restaurants!
