This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't know, I think a reject is a reject is a reject. But hell, screw it all, I feel much better than two hours ago. At least I know I'm leaving the state now.

I almost wanted to reply with a "screw you" to the e-mail, but I thought that might be unwise.

Any other chances for you, Wire?

No love from CO for me either. Ahh no sunny days in Denver for me. It makes my decision-making easier though.

Good luck to all on the waitlist- I was outright rejected.

Bummer.

any way we can find out WHY we were rejected- other than the "competitive applicant pool"?

In May Dr. Sondheimer hosts meetings with waitlisted/rejected applicants to let you know what happened with your application and what you can do to improve if you apply again next year. I did not live in CO at the time, so I had a conversation on the phone with him...it was very helpful. He is a very nice man who is interested in helping applicants, definitely contact him if you have questions. I think you can set something up through Sean.

Angeliqua- were you waitlisted last year? If so, what third?

Has anyone heard of people getting accepted off the bottom third of the waitlist?

I was on the bottom third of the waitlist...I think it is extremely rare to get accepted from that position.

I want to second Angeliqua's suggestion about talking with Dr. Sondheimer about why you were rejected/waitlisted. I was rejected last year and went to the session in June (it is in May for people on the waitlist and June for people rejected). Both my interviewers asked if I went to that this year and I am sure that the fact that I went and improved on everything they suggested helped me this year.

I received CU's rejection this morning.

But this afternoon, I did receive an acceptance from Albany, so at least I have somewhere to go....but, poop, I don't wanna move!

Maybe I'll see you in Albany, lukeday!
