Farm, how many times have you applied for Pharmacy? You seem so carefree!
lolllthis is my third time applying, i obviously rejected them the first 2 times. I'm glad to see that the adjudicators showed perseverance, i will be sure to mention it in my speech

I thought profs were going to register for the time slots you provided to see what time they can come to your place and teach you 😕oh, is it only me who is able to register right now?
Where did you find that on SSC? I can't find it😕inferior gpa, inferior july 20th 7am timeslot!! yay!

It's easier if you log into CWL by the following link:
courses.students.ubc.ca
However, I wouldn't trust the time you're given yet - times are generally not updated until a few weeks before your registration (auto-set at 7am).
It still says Program: BSC for me, how did you change it to pharm? 😕
Erp, I don't see pharm under "my program" yet, should I bet worried?😱its under "my program", and you should see ur reg time below reg status

Have you accept the offer on ssc and pay your deposit yet?
I did that yesterday and saw my pharmacy eligibility this morning, maybe give them a day or so to process your offer.😕

Can we take any pharmacy specific elective in first year? I checked out a few of them and they all require you to be a 1< year student 🙁.
Doesn't seem so. First year is going to be pretty chill since my other electives are all wrapped up. Would've liked to get the PHAR one outta the way... ah well.
I think its gonna get a bit tougher in the second and third year.I am also in the same situation. Getting your undergrad first will do that I guess. But it looks like some of the special topics/studies type courses don't explicitly state that they need pre-reqs from lower years and I think PHAR 456 and 458 seem to be fair game? thoughts?
I also noticed a bunch of nutrition courses and other options that I would love to take (despite the fact that I technically don't need any extra electives). I wonder if it is possible to take a minor with pharmacy? I feel like a nutritional background would complement the profession quite well. Just a thought...
Also, trying to figure out housing is BLOWING my mind!
Do we only have to take 1 semester of organic chem?
I don't think there are any electives in first year. There's one in 2nd year, two in 3rd year and three in 4th year. I've taken all the required courses other than the PHAR courses. I think that's what you meant as well. 12 credits for the 1st year sounds really boring don't you think? Lol. That's why I wanted to get the pharmacy specific electives out of the way. I'm also covered for the 6 credits of non-pharmacy electives. First year = 😴Doesn't seem so. First year is going to be pretty chill since my other electives are all wrapped up. Would've liked to get the PHAR one outta the way... ah well.
Yeah I guess. It's gonna be expensive though. And I am leaving a lot behind here...
****. 🙁
Have rejections been sent out?
Go to Waterloo. 😉
Just kidding.
I think Waterloo has a better program, to be honest.
But it wouldn't be worth moving across the country to me, in my opinion.
So I would pick UBC over it.
But I guess it depends on what you value more.
as far as i know uoft pharmd has been rejected by government for this year... i would stay in ubc if got an offer from there
hey Gladd,
did u get in UBC????
Hey, is anyone taking Biochem this year??

Where did you hear this? I'm pretty sure that isn't the case.
I am taking BIOC 302 this year 🙂 Are you taking BIOC 300?
Yeah I'm thinking about it! I've taken organic already so I'll have a free spot...I've also taken Immunology already so I hope I won't have to take Micro 202 😛 What's the difference between the two anyway?
I know for MICB 202 we had 3 units: immunology, viruses, and bacterial diseases.
Maybe you can get an exemption or whatever if your immunology course covered that?
Yeah, we definitely covered all those sections but it integrated how your immune system respond to viral and bacterial infections. By the end you know how a pathogen enters your system and what defenses it will trigger within your immune system.
Naturally, it was centered around immunology...But I'm sure I've learned most of the material in that course already, so it would be nice to save some money!
Try emailing Dr. Tracy Kion at [email protected]. We had immunology, bacterial diseases and virology in MICB 202. What you explained was under immunology. In bacterial diseases, we looked at 7-8 (I think) case studies of bacterial diseases, their causes, cures, etc. In virology, we looked at different ways a virus enters a host, replicates and spreads. Then there were more case studies in this section as well with every virus having a different life cycle.Yeah, we definitely covered all those sections but it integrated how your immune system respond to viral and bacterial infections. Okay. Yeah, my friend told me to email her...but mentioned there are some weird guidelines you have to follow when corresponding with her?
We didn't really do case studies in bacterial diseases. But everything you've described about viruses I have definitely covered. If they don't waive the MICB 202 course, I was hoping they would at least waive the approved elective (MICB 302) for Immunology. If I do take it again, at least it will be a breeze...
Same boat.
Anyone??

Okay. First of all you're feeding me false info cause I think I remember you being on the uoft waitlist. And that's pretty pathetic.
Second of all, I'm on the waitlist for ubc. So yeah. I'm probably going to uoft much to your dismay cause I don't think the ubc waitlist moves much.
Well, as far as I know, your information is false. The PharmD is imminent, the curriculum has already changed for a doctorate degree, they've even implemented a bridging Bsc-PharmD program for current Bsc students and all we're waiting for is the government to approve of it. If UBC had caught on with U of T and Waterloo, I would have probably accepted their offer for admission. But they didn't, so..
read a post here with a source buddy:Where did you hear this? I'm pretty sure that isn't the case.
read a post here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=760268
so shared with you guys
It would help if I didn't have to go through 35 pages of posts. And I've been following the U of T thread. Even if it's not this year, they wouldn't have changed our curriculum if they weren't sure that the government will approve it in the near future.
