Yeah. I'd hate to have to wait until March/April to get a reply. 👎

Also, maybe I should clarify for some people when I say immediately following their interview. I don't mean you get accepted on the spot or get a call that night. I mean within the next following week or two.

Hey do you think they will call us or send a letter notfying if we are accepted

i got an interview invite this morning from UC! they still need to reply back with a date to interview, though.

Yup....final word comes from snail mail. Thanks for all the info Vale, it helps alot since youve already been through the process.

For those of you wondering if we get snow.....we are currently in the middle of a "winter storm warning" We had snow last night, getting some sleet now, and will go back to snow tonight. The final total guesstimates I've heard have been from 6 to 10" and just recently 8 to 12". Thats snow and sleet combined. We get a decent one every few years it seems like. While this isn't huge compared to the northeast, its enough to slow everyone down around here. I wouldn't be surprised to wake up tomorrow to hear the words "level 3 snow emergency in effect for....."

I'm looking more and more forward to my interview everyday.

Congrats! The college was on a shortened schedule today, due to inclement weather. The way the forecast looks I wouldn't be surprised if they close or have a shortened day again tomorrow. (Xavier and NKU closed today) If you don't hear anything by end of day tomorrow, I'd call Thursday as the person scheduling may have a lot of backlog by then between the email and phone. They do interviews on Fridays and Saturdays.

HTH👍

Vale, at least its only once a day, 6 days a week. :meanie:

Just as a weather update for those of you waiting to hear about interview scheduling, UC was completely closed today. One nice thing is the text messaging system that the university has set up to notify students of situations such as these. I usually get the text about the same time I hear about it on the news/radio stations.

Hey guys, I am fairly new to this sight and just wanted to add to what some of you have stated. I applied about a week before the December deadline and I didn't get a interview reply until around the first week of January. My interview is scheduled for Feb. 7 and i will be making the drive from Lexington. I am currently attending UK and hope to get accepted to UC or UK. For those of you trying to schedule an interview appointment all I can say is be patient. I played phone, and email, tag with the lady for about a week before I could finally get an appointment schedule, because every time I responded the spots had been filled. Best of luck to all of you and I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather we've had this week.

Hrm, I submitted my app around the sametime and still havent heard anything back since the email that my application had been received and was complete in early december. *keeping my fingers crossed*

Good luck on the interview!

We may be playing musical chairs. I'm at UC and I got accepted to UK. Have you interviewed there? The drive is definitely nice from Cinci-Lexington. I just liked how the speed limit was 70! As for the scheduling, I know what you mean. I emailed her literally five minutes after she sent me an email of the available times and it was full. How does that happen?

I was lucky when i scheduled my interview...I recieved the email right when i was checking it and then immediately called and got right thru and they had spots on the 23rd and thats what i took...the sooner the better was my thoughts...I was literally shaking when i went in there to interview, but luckily calmed down

Ah, so you were there the day before me. Waiting for that 'early decision' letter.

i definately hoping to get one.. I really like UC.. so it i get accepted its for sure where i will go...I just hate that we potentially have to wait so long

My interview is just a little over a week away. I know I've just got to do my best and let me be me. It's been stressful handling work with school, but I'm an adult so I gotta do what I have to do until I know what my future holds. I'm sure that will come up in my interview. I am a workaholic by nature.

Just remember that the weather threw a monkey wrench in everyone's plans so give yourself a little bit more time to figure out if your in that early decision group.......Keep the faith:xf:

Good luck to those who have interviews coming up tomorrow and Saturday.:luck:

I have not interviewed at UK, but I am hoping to hear something real soon. Did you interview at Cinci? If not are going to bother since you got accepted to UK? I know I always said UK would be my first choice but the tution at UC is about half price of UK and here lately I have been trying to decide were I would go if I have a choice. I could save $30-$50K by going to UC, plus my wifes family lives in northern KY, so I know she would enjoy it up there.

Yes I interviewed at UC and it is my first choice. Even though I've been accepted at UK, I will opt to go to UC over UK. I have several reasons for wanting to remain here in Cincinnati and tuition is definitely one of the biggest factors. Out-of-state tuition for the first year is $40k at UK!

Hi there,
I am also in the boat, I applied to UK and got accepted and I have an interview with UC today :xf:. I live in nothern kentucky. if I do get accepted I would have to a make a choice, I don't know what I'll do honestly.
I have a question may be one of you guys may be able to answer me. Does UC have some kind of reciprocity tuition fees for those who live accross the bridge, cambpell and boone county residents?
I just don't know if I would be paying instate or outofstate fees at UC.

Hey zhrim,

You're probably going to have to call to find out. The Registrar's website says that residents of Boone and Campbell counties but not Bridge. The issue is that it lists several colleges within UC that it applies to but it does not list the College of Pharmacy. Here's the link:

http://www.uc.edu/registrar/reciprocity.html

Yes, UC does offer reciprocity. I spoke with a lady from financial aid this summer and she said they just add some additional fees, or taxes, to the instate tuition. I think the cost was going to be somewhere around $14-$16k. She also said that UC only increases tuition ~1-2% annually, vs. the 8-10% increase that I have seen UK go up in the past few years. At the rate they are going we will be paying $25K per year, or more, just for instate at UK. I am sure that it would be nice to attend the new college of pharmacy building that is going to be finished in 2010, but is it really worth it. I really believe that as long as UK is trying to reach their glorified status as a top 20 research facility, tuition will continue to increase substantially. I love going to UK and would like to stay here, but is it worth spending $100K plus is student loans? After all, i don't think it matters where you get your degree. As long as your happy and are able to fulfill your dreams. I will personally be happy when I get accepted somewhere so that I can finally have a good nights rest and quit worrying about all of the "what ifs".

Thank you for the input, what I meant by accross the bridge was those who live on the other side of ohio river 😉

Thank you for the info, it is true that with the reciprocity the tuition at UC is way cheaper than UKs.
I know exactly what you mean, I really loved UK more than UC but I don't think it would be worth paying all that money.

Ohhh gotcha. Haha. I'm not familiar with any counties in KY so I wasn't sure. How did the interview go?

😀 . I think the interview went well. It was laid back like others said. One faculty member and a practicing pharmacist interviewed me. They were really nice, and all the questions were about what I wrote in the essays. I was surprised how different it was from UKs. At UK, they welcomed the students, and had current pharmacy students there to ask them questions if we wanted to, it just seemed like they care more 🙂.

I should probably review my essays this week. I've been concentrating on school so much it would help me to remember what I wrote. Hope everything went well for you Zrhim.

UK certainly had a lot more questions to ask. I think the UC interview is to get to know you more as a person than ask you a series of questions.

I have a few friends at UC, they all seem to like the school. I'd pick whichever school is the cheapest and easiest to move to, although I do have to say that UK is way way way better :meanie:

has anyone heard anything else on when we might hear something

Sooner or later. I know that sounds bad but that's the truth. Either you should hear within a week or two, or you won't hear anything until late March.

lol thanks Vale i hate all of this waiting.....its like we have been waiting for months o we have nvm

At least you all are at the "final" waiting stage.....I just went and bought shoes for my interview on Friday tonight after class. I did hear some of the pre-pharmers in my ochem class talk about how their interviews went this past weekend. They sounded like they were pretty nervous and one was critiqued on the info they put into each essay. I'm still not stressed. This is just one more component of what I need to do to succeed in my goal. Plus I think the fact that I've been interviewed for different jobs and other situations helps me out alot.

Any one else interviewing this weekend?

True! the interview with UK was hmm...I don't know how to word it 😀 kind of though. they asked me some interesting questions like what would you do if you have a problem at work, and whenever I gave an answer they would ask why so or what if it doesn't work. or what would you do if someone is not doing there job in your team, and on and on and on. But it think it was a good experience I certainly learnt a lot from it.

About UC, when I asked when we'll hear back, they said they answer the top 10% of people who applied and for the rest they rank them. They said they want to interview all the students before making a decision.
Let's see how that goes! I would hate to have to wait until march to know what I'll be doing with my life. if get a rejection letter in march I hope I will have time to find housing in lexington and take care of other business.

Does UC provide you with a folder? Are you expected to bring anything with you?

Thanks Vale!!!!!!! Thankfully it'll be a little warmer than it has been.....

Just for curiousity for those who got interview invites what is the first letter of your last name. I have a theory and I was wondering if you guys might support it because I am almost in panic mode because I have not receive an interview invite yet.

There is a girl in my Organic class whose last name begins with a letter above mine who has not heard anything yet. There is another girl whose much farther down the alphabet list than me who has been accepted already.

I know that doesn't give you much hope for your theory, but just keep the faith. Good luck.

Ugh. I am still waiting, too. I was also thinking of the alphabetized method just to keep my hopes up, but I guess that is out the window.

On the upside, Pharmcas finally got my academic update processed, so Im thinking they may be waiting for that. However, the Pharmcas automated message says that it may take a week for them to send it to the schools in which I applied. So the wait continues . . .

I know PharmCAS has finally calculated my GPA a few days ago, so I'm hoping to hear from the schools soon after they send it to the schools this coming Monday.

UC traditionally interviews through March. I don't know how many days they have left planned for this cycle. I think the next days are 2 weeks from now, but haven't heard past that (just from scheduling my interview). If I can find out any more info I'll post it.

My interview went fairly well. It was very conversational. They have alot of student organizations! Now the wait begins....................but in the meantime I'm enjoying my day off of work with a nap........😴

Darn....That debunks my whole theory of them interviewing alphabetical order.....Oh well at least PharmCas calculated my fall quarter GPA yesterday so my whole hand is on the table.

My interview was good. Laid-back like everyone else said. One of our tour guides was sick and other didn't show so we didn't get to talk to any current students.

hey has anyone gotten an acceptance letter from UC? In my interview they said that some ppl already were already notified.

My interview was last fri... I havent heard anything... sounds like im in the bottom 90%???😎
