Orlando campus! Gainesville was my first choice and Orlando my second, so I still might try to petition to get into Gainesville. But Orlando is a great town with a smaller class size, so I'm still not sure!
Either way should be great; I've read good things about the comradery of the satellites. Mind listing your stats?

Sure!
I'll graduate April 30th with a BS in Biology from UF
GPA 3.73
PCAT 85%
1 year hospital pharmacy experience at Shands-UF

Is anyone else going for Jacksonville? I received an interview offer a couple weeks ago, but it is on April 15th. Just wondering if anyone else got an interview date there earlier?

Jax is my number one. I haven't received an invite yet, but I got an invite from another top 10 program so I'm hoping it's coming soon plus I'm in state

Yeah I already had an interview at MUSC, really liked the college. I am still waiting to see if I got accepted. It is just a lot of money on deposits that people will be paying out with interview dates spread out all over the place. I wasn't sure if i should read into the late interview date or if it is just random.

I'm soo happy!! I finally got my interview invitation!!! 😀 😀

.......but I do have a question 😛

I applied to both the Gainesville and St. Pete campus. I ranked Gainesville as my first choice. My interview is for the St. Pete campus my second choice. The email that I got says that the Admissions Committee has assigned me to the St. Petersburg campus. That is what I need a little help on...to me that sounds like the St. Petersburg campus has been chosen for me and that is the only campus I will be considered for. Is this correct? Or is there the possibility of getting more than one interview invitation at UF? For example, getting interview invites at both the St. Pete and Gainesville campus.

Either way I'm super happy to have gotten an interview 😀 ...But I'm just curious on how the interview selection works...

Thanks so much in advance!!! and best of luck to those who are still waiting to hear back! :luck:

Congrats. From my research, the campus at which they invite you to interview is, generally, the campus they put you in upon your acceptance. I think this is especially true if they invite to interview you at a satellite. You only have one interview, though, for sure.

You only get one interview and they designate which campus you interview for! Gainesville was my first choice and I got designated Orlando campus. Good luck at the interview, its super easy and everyone is really nice.

Finally an interview for the Gainesville campus!

Feb 18th 🙂

Finished my application back in November.

Woke up to my interview letter as well, March 25th in St. Pete!!!! So excited!!! 👍👍👍

Congrats to all those who received an interview invite!

What's the turnaround time been for UF receiving all your application material to them inviting you to an interview? Thanks in advance.

I submitted all of my application material in the middle of December & just now received an interview invitation. From what Penny said it seems like they are looking at people based on science gpa and pcat score first. I think it was for residents, 3.3 or higher science gpa and over 80 pcat and for nonresidents it was 3.6 or higher and over 90 pcat.

Sounds good. I was aware that they looked over applications in tiers, but thanks for clarifying.

Did anybody who esubmitted early-January/late-December hear back yet?

FINALLY received an interview invitation this afternoon! 😀 I submitted my app in October and I'm just hearing from UF now, in February. There's still a chance!

I submitted December 18th and received my invitation on January 20th.

Ya'll make me nervous with your awesome stats! I have 3.0 bachelors degree and 74 pcat with 90's in science and math. App was sent late december- haven't heard a word! Think I have a shot? I got accepted into my safety schools and they want a yes or no- but I want UF!

If anyone gets accepted into the orlando campus let me know!! I'm already accepted and just went to look at the campus this weekend. I will be looking for a roommate to move to orlando with since it is pretty pricey to live near campus alone. Good luck to everyone!!

If anyone has been accepted to this school, please let me know so you can be added to the roll call for 2014/2015. Please post in the sticky thread or PM me your acceptances and the program you will be attending (if accepted to multiple schools).🙂

So excited!! I got offered an interview for the Jax campus on April 15!! It seems so far away but I can't wait 🙂

Did anyone get the email for the background check? Got mine tonight but my interview isn't until next month...thought that was odd...

Hope I can say I'll see ya there!!! That's my number 1 school and place!!!! Love Jax

I got one also, and my interview isn't until March but i assumed it was for another school that have already been accepted to. guess not.

Does anyone know someone who got acccepted UF COP with a 60% composite on the PCAT??
I have been in US for only 6 years and it is hard for me earn high rank on the reading comprehension and verbal scores. However, i got ~80% on the biology, chemistry, and quantitative scores...
My overall and science GPA are both 3.91
I am so depressed that my English hinder my chance of getting into my dream school...do you think they will be lenient on the fact that English is not my native language and look at the subscores??

Anyone knows?? or comments??🙁
Feel like I still have 15% hope:xf: lol

Dear, so many people are in your shoes! I am a UF undergrad and I scored 69 on the PCAT and still havent heard anything from them!(keeping in mind that they have preference for their students). As of right now, they are being VERY strict! they are only considering those with PCAT above 80!

I wish you the best of luck, but it wouldnt be a bad idea to have a plan B!:luck:

Has anybody who has received an interview invite, or been accepted, had only an AA? It seems like a majority of you have your Bachelors, so I thought this would be an interesting question.

(PS: I know I come across as nervous about not receiving an interview yet, but I'm just asking for demographic and curiosity reasons.)

Yep, only an AA here and got an interview.

Sure.

3.77 Science GPA
86 PCAT

No pharmacy experience, but I am a certified pharm tech.
My extracurricular section was pretty slim, but my my academic stats were fairly good. They say that if you have a good amount of work experience and extracurricular activities, then your grades and PCAT can be a little lower, and if your grades and PCAT are good, then your extracurricular section can be a little slimmer.

Haha, wow, we have pretty much the exact same stats (except I do have pharmacy experience). Everything is coming up Milhouse. I'm sure you applied pretty early, though? That's where I'm weakest; I submitted everything early January.

(Congrats, by the way. When is/was your interview?)

Hello I was just wondering if anyone had this problem, I put the Jacksonville campus as my first choice, but upon acceptance I was designated to the Gainesville campus. I would think less people would want to go to a satellite campus so i would have gotten my choice. Should I talk to someone about this?

I would imagine that might have to do with the reasons you put for Jax being your first choice? I am not sure about whether you can talk to someone about it now, but I do know someone who was able to transfer from the Gainesville campus to Jacksonville after her first year. So if it doesn't change for this year, you could probably look into transferring later. I don't know if she had any extenuating circumstances though.

If you search for the UF COP 2014 thread, several people shared the process of switching campuses and their experiences. From what I've read, you have to have a REALLY good reason (like family) for them to even consider. Good luck🙂

Thanks! I actually didn't apply super early. I had everything submitted by Dec. 18th. My interview is this Friday. 🙂

Good luck to everyone with interviews tomorrow! Don't worry too much about it, it's a breeze and all of the interviewers are super nice 🙂 Just be yourselves!

I got an interview invite. March 25th, Gainesville. No big deal, 😎. ( 😀 )

I have a different problem.I am in California andI was accepted to University of the Pacific in California, which has a 3-year program. However, my husband will come to UF Gainesville campus for a professor job interview. It's really hard for him to get a job. So if he gets this, we will have to move. I am just wondering how I can transfer from a 3-year program to a 4-year program. I don't want to apply for UF the next year (I am 32 already.) My plan is to go to UOP for 2 semesters and transfer to UF if possible.

I don't think anyone on here can answer your question unless they are on the admissions committee. You're best bet would be to email them. Transfers are pretty rare because each school has its own curriculum in a specific order. You might have to be put on a special schedule and it could take 4 years regardless.

For anyone who has an interview: How were you notified? Do they email now or still use snail mail?

I'm a 2PD at St. Pete if anyone has any questions. Now back to studying....🙁

Regarding switching campuses - my mentor switched from gainesville to orlando her first year, but this was because her mother was very ill and orlando was closer to cocoa beach. She said this was a very rare occurrence.

Regarding transferring from one PharmD program to another - i hear this is next to impossible at any institution. you will need perfect stats and a very good reason, though if your husband is new professor at UF this may help your cause. make sure you pull 4.0 both semesters at UOP before attempting to transfer or it's probably a lost cause..

I was just curious how everyone felt they did on the interview this past Friday (there was one right? lol). I don't have an interview until April in Jax, so I don't know how similar the process will be, but what was it like?

I had my interview January 14th, but it was at the gainesville campus. You check in and wait in a room with everyone else until you are called in for the interview. Student ambassadors are there to lead you around and to answer any questions you may have. The interview itself is very short, 10-15 minutes. They ask situational questions such as working in groups and failures/successes. Everyone is really nice and understanding. After that you take a tour of the campus. At the gainesville campus we also heard from Dr. McKenzie who is one of the deans, but being at the jax campus you will probably hear from the associate dean of the campus. UF pretty much only interviews people they want to accept so no worries! Good luck!

I finally got accepted to UF, Gainesville Campus. I am so excited!!!
