Hey guys I am starting UH 2015 acceptance group on facebook. I will post the link soon. Can't wait to meet all the future mates. Those who are waiting, don't lose hope. You will hear from them soon.😍
 
Do they send out acceptance e-mails all at once? I didn't get one and it's very depressing 🙁 Congrats to those who got accepted.
 
congrats to everyone who has gotten accepted!!

from what i can tell, there has been an interview jan 28 (acceptance sent out), feb 18, and one coming up feb 25, which is a makeup for feb 5. I just have a couple of questions..
-Does anyone know of additional interview offers other than those dates?
-Do they send all the interview invites for a specific date out at once, or do they send them as they review your app?
-I got my last LOR in at the end of january and everything else in mid november. gpa 3.3, pcat 83, moderate community service/involvement. does anyone think i have a decent chance, or has the time already passed for when i completed my application?

There is another interview on March 4th.
 
i was wondering how many interviews UH offers. I know they do rolling admissions so they have to have a pre-determined amount of interviews. I know there have been 2 interviews so far with one this upcoming friday, feb 25th. How many more interview sessions will be held?

I've heard right around 10 interviews in the past. However, it seems that if you get one of the last 2 or 3 interview dates, your chances for getting in go way down because the class fills up. So the earlier the better! And I'm pretty sure they interview through early/mid May.
 
I got 84 % composite.

Chemistry 95
Quantitative Ability 73
Reading Comprehension 401 47
Biology 425 84
Verbal Ability 419 77

Composite 423 84
 
By the way guys there will be people turning down invitations. So you never know when you will get one! So be optimistic. One thing to do is call the dean or the admin and say you are really interesting in attending UH. May be arrange a meeting to talk about how interested you are!

When I received an email from them acknowledging the receipt of my application materials, it states that they will be interviewing until April.

I think Velvet is right about until when they are giving interviews. I believe it is until April also.
 
I applied rather late this year, and I was wondering if anybody knew how long it would take to get some feedback pertaining to where you stood? I'm crossing my fingers, hoping that I'll get some good news; I desperately need some.

Actually they will interview up to May 20th. I heard that from my interviewer.
 
If they do rolling admissions, then I don't understand why they continue to do interviews up to May. It seems to me that slots will be filled up way before the last interview date so they're kind of giving candidates false hope?

Exactly, I was surprised. I'm not sure if it's concrete date or possible tentative date just in case they need backup days.
 
My coworker who's a P3 at UH confided to me that they choose a handful of people from each batch: those who applied early, at a relative average time, and late. Apparently he was the last one interviewed on the last interview date and got in, so perhaps, there's still some hope for moi? Haha...ha...ha.

What you're failing to take into consideration is that some students accept their offer to UH but then get accepted somewhere else in April or May and decide to go there. In addition, things come up and some students are unable to attend pharmacy school for the given year. It happens EVERY year. My year, we had a good number of students accepted during the summer due to the reasons I've just stated. You just never know what's going to happen.

Also, keep in mind that not everyone who interviews early gets in. I know a good amount of students the past 3 years who interviewed in April and were accepted. I interviewed in mid-March. And again, some students were on the wait list and got in at various times during the semester... even in the summer.

I wouldn't get too bogged down on dates. As I've stated before, if you get an interview, just go and put your best foot forward. If the Admissions Committee determines that you're the right fit for the school, you'll get in whether you interviewed January 28 or May 20.

When I asekd a staff there, she said it takes 3-5 weeks.
Is there anything we can do now? Let's just relax!!!

I interviewed on 4-16 last year and did not get in because the class was already full. Its a big disadvantage to get an invite that late. I have not heard anything from UH yet...WHen they review your file, do they also look on your past interview results?
 
This might be a sophomoric question, but the schools receive your PCAT scores before you get them in the mail right? I just got my January 2011 results yesterday.

Did you call UHCOP last year to see what areas you could improve on? That's probably one of the most important things you can do to be honest because UH will look at how you have improved from last year.
 
So for those you got accepted and accepted the offer, do we get any indication that they received all the required paperwork and deposit?

Yep I did in May. I was told that the interview was the only thing I needed to improve on, especially the group exercise. My interview was not that bad, it was pretty conversational actually

According to the website, the latest date they'll take is October PCAT, unless something has changed.... And I think it's for the reason that they come in too late.

"The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is a required exam for admission to UH College of Pharmacy. Students should take the PCAT during October of the year before they want to start pharmacy school or earlier and have PCAT send their scores directly to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy."
 
Hrm. I'm pretty sure one of the advisors I talked to said they were taking the January 2011 scores this year. Also, the application allows you to choose January 22, 2011 as a PCAT date when filling out that specific page.

OMG, have I been deceived?!

EDIT: I just checked my documentation status, and it says that they received my PCAT score 2...

I spoke with Mr. Morgan Ely back in December and he said that the January scores will be accepted, which is why I retook the exam.
However, it doesn't say they have received my scores yet. Possibly tomorrow.

Yes, I spoke to Ms. Poliquit twice and Mr. Ely, and I distinctly remember verifying with them about the January scores. WHEW.

UHCOP accepts Jan PCAT but they don't recommend taking the Jan PCAT due to the application deadline. Jan PCAT score delays your application which is not good for a school with rolling admission.

Lol not a problem!
I'm currently in panic mode now, though. They still don't show they have recieved my scores according to my online application status. When did yours post as "Received"?
 
Same here. I've been constantly checking my inbox every few minutes for any signs of good news. It changed yesterday. I emailed both an advisor and a secretary that I just received the scores in the mail the past Saturday and how I should proceed from there. Neither of them have responded yet though, haha.

I just emailed Mr. Ely giving him a "heads up" when my scores come in. 😀 Hopefully we will hear back soon. I did SOOOOO much better on this test. My composite went up by like 24 pts!
 
Even if you are the competition, congrats! That's great! My mother saw my scores before I did and yelled to me across the room, "Did you do worse? I can't tell." My heart sunk. Fortunately, she couldn't decipher the scoring, and my composite improved by 9 points.

The agony and anxiety is distracting me from my schoolwork. This is not good.
