Everyone homeschools...some just also go to class. We refer to them as "suckers". 90% of what you learn is on your own imo.

About notes, we have a student run notegroups so theoretically we should get good notes for every class. That obviates the need for you to take copious notes in lecture. Also, most everything you need to know if on the powerpoint or in the syllabus. It's not like lots of classes in ugrad where taking good notes is the key to doing well.
