University of Oklahoma Interview

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just realized something and I hope I am not over analyzing.

Everyone that has already been accepted seems to have a later date on their "completed application status" then when they received their acceptance letter; i.e. some received the letter a few days before their status was completed.

My status shows that they completed my application on 4/6/07 and I still haven't heard anything.

WORRIED!!!!😱 😱

Yeah, I noticed that too - I'm trying not to think about it....

I e-mailed Jennifer Richardson about this today to get her input on it since my info is inaccurate. I haven't received anything back from her yet.

Hey, where does yours give the date of completion? Is it on the home page after you log in or is it on the checklist tab?

Good morning, all - how are our nerves today?

Mine are like grenades, thanx for asking....:scared:

I am about to check myself in to the Behavorial Unit upstairs.

Are you running home on lunch to check your mail?

Actually, I don't have to. My wife is home with the baby and she's been calling me as soon as the mail comes in to let me know whether or not I can relax. So far, it's been not. Our mail usually comes at about 10:30 so I've got another half-hour to forty-five minutes to wait....

Scuze me while I go change my diaper......🙄

You see, because I'm about to wet myself with anticipation from the....nevermind....😳

You are too funny!!!!

Let me know ASAP. If you get something that gives me hope being that we had the same interview day.

Has anyone from 03/03 gotten a letter yet?

Sorry I forgot that Dginrit interviewed 3/3

Hey, dginrit, if you don't mind my asking, what kind of stats did you have? PCAT, GPA, how did your interview go, experience, etc....

At least you guys aren't a walking infection......

My Mercaptopurine (a cancer drug) makes me, literally, a walking infection. Currently, I have a sinus infection, my lip has 3 blisters on it (another side effect) and 6 out of 10 of my fingers are infected (nail biting from anticipation). So there. Top that.

Oh, and that is the LAST time I ever post a link. 😛 😛

There is really not much difference. I grew up in Muskogee (Fort Gibson actually). Then moved to Broken Arrow in high school. You can find a decent rent house for $700 (though not the nicest).

My mom and dad live in ole FTG. I even went to HS there a few years.

Ah yes, good ole 6-MP (mercaptopurine). My mother has lupus and was originally diagnosed with Crohn's and they put her on 6-MP when it first came out. She went through a similar experience with chronic infections that normally don't arise. Hang in there, cycloketocaine - hopefully your surgery will take care of your problems.

Thanks for the info OUPharmD. What's your real name? Everyone know me, but I don't know anyone else.....🙄

Anyhoo, I have to find somewhere with a good school district (for the little girl in my avatar). What are the good school districts around there?

Oh, and BTW, my husband absolutely refuses to live in Tulsa metro. We watch to much of the news and it freaks him out. 🙄

Yeah, they put me on a freakishly high dose, 300mg, for my size (120 lbs.) Apparently, I metabolize it really well. So, now, I think my dose is a little too high. 🙄 Oh well. It helps with the Crohn's.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Broken Arrow is a really good place to live and the school districts are wonderful. We've been there for about 2 years now and we love it. If the city has one downside, it's that it is growing to fast to keep pace. Some of the newer housing areas have only 2 lane roads and traffic can back up in a big way. Other than that, it's an outstanding place to be. My commute to the Schusterman Center (where the pharmacy school is located) will only take about 20 - 25 minutes in rush hour traffic. Jenks is also a good place - that's where I went to school, but the cost of living is now skyhigh.... It's become the Beverly Hills of northeast Oklahoma.

Ever hit the 100,000 mile mark in a car? Well I just hit the 100 post mark for student doctor network....I'd like to thank my sponsors, my family and friends, and most importantly, Microsoft - for supplying me with such wonderful equipment with which I have achieved this remarkable feat....😀

I'm almost at the 500 mark.......😱 😱

I went to Franklin elementary in Muskogee (doesn't exist anymore), then FTG.

My father still lives there off of HWY 10. My parents divorced and I moved to BA in 9th grade. I love Broken Arrow schools but once I had a child decided to move to Owasso because of their schools. I am very pleased with Owasso. Not much of a traffic problem here. At least if you choose to use HWY 75 instead of 169.

Have any of you who were accepted started the vaccination form? I'm going thursday to start. Do you guys remember what they said about the Hep B shot? Was it that we had to have the first two and could take the third during the fall semester?

So LowGPA,

Anything today?

Just got back from my home. Nothing.🙁

Some good news though. I emailed Jennifer Richardson at OU about the OUHSC website with our application status. She said that it had absolutely nothing to do with what was going on, though it is still connected to the system so it does reflect some new dates. But she told me not to go by this - the system is not even updated with new info.....So we can at least quit worrying about that. 🙄

I wasn't very clear about the whole vaccination thing. Somebody told me that there was one that you could wait on, but somebody else said that you must have them all before you start. I would contact somebody at the school to find out for sure.

Sooner03, if you don't my asking, it sounds like you've been accepted. What kind of stats did you have? GPA, PCAT scores, experience, how did your interview go, etc.....Those of us who have not been accepted are just trying to figure out exactly what we're up against....

Welcome Pharm21. Glad to have you.

Nothing here either.

Welcome Pharm21 🙂
Where are you hoping to get in? Tulsa or OKC?

I prefer OKC but will go to Tulsa. I only have 6 months pharmacy experience, and my pcat is lower than some have.

The ups, the downs...It's like daytime TV in this thread!!!😛

I've been following this thread and hope all of you hear the definitive good news soon!!🙂

my stats would be

pcat - 65, was gonna retake it but no need to now
gpa - 3.8
interview - pretty good. one interviewer was commisioned corp and knew all the pharmacists that I used to work with and the p2 student was in the same class with a girl I went to school with and worked with so it was cool.
Second time to apply but the first time I didn't have all prereqs done, just did it to get my name in the hat.

I have 3.0 GPA, 64 PCAT at the time they did interviews (however i got an 80 in January), and approximately 10 hours of shadowing. This was my third time to apply, and i'll have a biochemistry degree in May. I thought the interview was great. I thought i really connected with the three interviewers. I interviewed during the afternoon session on 2/24. Recieved my acceptance letter last thursday for Okc.

If the others who haven't heard from OU, don't mind me asking, do you have a degree and is this your first time to apply.🙂

I have 2. One in Mathematics and the other Business Management.
First time applying.

Still Waiting

Thanks OUpharmD, just thought I would ask because I don't have an degree so maybe that's why I haven't heard anything.🙁

I wouldn't worry about that. We only have a few more days of insanity.

Hi all! I've been visiting this thread religiously since my interview so I thought it was time to join in. I am in the same boat as some of you...I am impatiently awaiting an acceptance letter. :scared: Thank you all for your continued encouragement and congrats to all who have been accepted already. My stats are:

GPA 3.5
PCAT 85
Bachelors degree in Biology
6 months of shadowing
2nd time applying...wait listed last year
Interviewed on the morning of 2/24 (group A-5 I recall)

I hope to get to know you all especially those going to the Tulsa campus.

So Megan,

How is your infected self doing?

I have a degree in biochemistry and I applied once a few years ago, but didn't have my pre-reqs completed.

You have lost all hopes of winning that presidential election. This will spread like wildfire once the press gets ahold of it.

Don't worry cyclo, you can be my V.P......if I get in. 😀

Sorry to inform you, but you didn't make the list this year. Good luck next time.

p.s. this is pertaining to lowgpahighpcat

Your mail seems to come early than most if you don't mind letting us know, also with me being new to the group, let me say Congrats on the baby.

Yeah, it usually comes about this time. The wife is at home with the baby, so she gets it as soon as it comes (or nearly so). I'll let everybody know either way whenever I get word.

Mail came - no ticket.....

And my stomach hurts a little bit more now.
