For institutional or industry practice? If the latter what area were you thinking? I've been given a lot of advice on whether or not to do a dual degree as well, but if you're not doing research (and you really have to have a passion for it [money cannot be a factor whatsoever bc it's relatively marginal ]) then pharmD + fellowship is the most practical route.

You know I'm not too sure which route I would go with my PhD, institutional or industry, but the main reason I would want to get the PhD is that I really would love to be apart of academia. I would love to teach someday and I don't think you can teach with only a Pharm.D.

You sure can teach w/ a pharmD, but you'd be mainly teaching Pharmacy practice stuff. For more basic sciences, you'd be a better candidate w/ a PhD. Good to see ppl considering academia though... I've only been seeing ppl considering industry as the alternative route

just and I mean JUST got my interview invite! WOOOO!

I'll keep you guys posted on whether or not I go... it won't be easy on my bank roll, especially since I got a the new macbook pro.

Wow! That's pretty crazy if it does. History does have a way of repeating itself! Best of luck to y'all!

And low and behold.. History DOES INDEED repeat itself..

Got my interview invitation email at 12:07pm about 2 hours ago.

As much as I want to be JUMPING UP AND DOWN for it.. I interviewed last year, and feel like it went great.. but was placed on active consideration and that was the end of it... hopefully history DOES NOT repeat itself on this one.

March 26th.... :xf::xf::xf:

I also received an interview invitation today!!!!

Hey guys, does anyone know if the interview invites all go out on the same day, or can they send them out over some time period? Thanks!

I called admissions a while ago and they said all interview invites have been sent out already🙁

Well, if people decline the invite, I guess they will be sending more out, still keeping my fingers crossed lol :xf:!

Before the end of next week, I should know if I've been accepted to my #1. If I do... then I am more than willing to offer up my interview spot to you guys.

I have heard of people getting an interview invite even one week prior to the interview date so yes it's possible.

got my interview invite today=)now that i think back nov 1st was such a hectic day. first i had to finish my ucsf apps and have them postmarked on nov 1, then had work until 6pm, then got home and furiously began working on my usc supps which i submitted 2 hrs before midnight!

Don't lose hope everyone! Seems like people will be hearing soon about their acceptances to other schools. There should be some movement in the next couple of weeks and some more interview invites will be out to take their spots. 🙂:xf::luck:

Wisconsin! Gotta love two things: Badger football and in-state tuition! Woooo!

Haha for USC, gotta love the Trojan football but not so much the in-state tuition! 🙂

Dont' you guys wish you still had Pete Carroll? Anyways, I got love for USC for giving us Clay Matthews!!!! Wooooo!

Sorry to be repetitive, but is it true that around 60-80 people get removed from AC list?😳

I hope so :xf: According to last years thread, around 40 or so got accepted from the AC list.

When do you guys think its going to be the last day I might be expecting an invite for an interview for this month?

Well, according to the previous poster who called in, all invites were sent out yesterday. As of now, We're just hoping for others to withdraw. Even so, there's no guarantee that the school would send out more invite even if that happens

I believe the last interview date is the 26th. So I think it's still possible for you to get an interview invite even a few days prior to this date. Remember, it's March! A lot of people will be hearing soon from other schools and may choose to decline their USC invite. Hang in there and stay positive! Remember! It ain't over 'til it's over! :luck::luck::luck::luck:

Thanks for the positive words of encouragment! I really need it now lol.

Hey all!

Did anyone else who has been accepted receive an email invitation to the Welcome Reception on April 6th? 🙂

hmm I haven't received anything about a Welcoming Reception even though I have accepted.

Should I give them a call?

congrats on getting in and thank you for the wishes! im surprised and glad the interview day will last only 2 hours. most other interviews seem to drag on for most of the day. i like the fact that usc gets right down to business!

Thanks for the well wishes. I have a March interview as well.

Just wondering... are our chances lower for this session since most of the TAP students are interviewing with us (and they have guaranteed spots)?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yup! Anyone plan on going?

I'm still debating whether or not to go. It's on a Wednesday and I would still have school so transportation through LA at that time would be an issue. Sounds like fun though

forgive me if my questions may sound stupid, but if TAP students are guaranteed admission into the pharmD program, then what is the point of them interviewing? what is the point of the TAP program if they still have to compete with the general pool of applicants? i think that TAP students are guaranteed admission as long as they maintain a certain GPA...right? 😕

Exactly, right? I really don't understand it. But, I have a friend who is a TAP student and she says the interview is required. I read last year's thread and I think a majority of the TAP students interview in March.🙁

GO! im sure it'll be fun i got off work and im going to leave school to go haha im so excited for usc

Chances are not lower, TAP students are not counted as part of the 40 or 50 or however many ( I am not sure) students that get admitted during each cycle. So chances of getting accepted are exactly the same as during the previous 3 interviews.

You should call just to make sure they have the right contact information for you. Doesn't hurt to check and make sure everything is in order on their end.

If you decide not to go, you can find instructions for all financial aid information on their website. Also, it would be a good idea to do your FAFSA asap!

BTW...put the link up for the FB page if you find it. 👍

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what's happening during the 3.5 hours that we'll be there?

I also received an interview invitation yesterday! totally unexpected, but extremely grateful 🙂

Congrats to those who've already been accepted. You all probably have smiles like this ---> 😀

I'm interviewing on the 26th. Super excited and nervous! Good luck fellow March interviewees!

Well, I know that if you go early there's the tour of the campus (which is pretty much the one building haha) and also the financial aid seminar. Other than that, I have no idea. Seems like a meet and greet with current and prospective students but not sure what the plan is to fill the hours that the reception is scheduled for.
