University of the Pacific Application Thread

I know I am really late in this application cycle for this school, but I thought I would just give it a chance.

I am about to submit my app, but I kind of got stuck on the last question:

Bachelors degree anticipated or received? Yes/NO (I plan to get my bachelors in june 2012 not 2011) so what am i supposed to pick?

Date conferred: should I leave this blank or fill in 06/12/2012??

thank you for anyone willing to help!

Then you would not have a bachelor degree by Fall 2011? You should put NO.

Because the latest degree should be by June 2011? I don't think you still can get your degree in June 2012, assuming that UOP accept you for their class Fall 2011.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

okay thank you.

I was assuming that was what they were meaning.

Also, i just submitted my pharmcas yesterday 10/22, does that mean I am safe or that pharmcas has to send out the app to uop by Nov1?

it says on their website "IMPORTANT!! All documents must be received by both PharmCAS and Pacific to be considered complete. Applications not completed by November 1st are LATE and will not be reviewed. Please note in order to meet the deadline, PharmCAS must receive all documents by 12:00 a.m. EST (that's 9:00 p.m. Pacific time) and all supplemental material must be postmarked by the posted Tier Deadline dates."

so that means I am okay?

Definitely, as long as it is postmarked before Nov. 1.

Just that you won't be in the tier system that UOP has for people who submitted their apps early.

Welcome to the boat with us. 😀

sorry, did you mean that i am safe as long as pharmcas sends out my app by NOV 1??? because i heard that it may take weeks for pharmcas to process it and then send it out to schools...it would be very unlikely for them to send my app out to uop by nov 1.

Or am i safe as long as i have esubmitted my pharmcas by nov 1st?

and for the supplemental I know that this one just needs to be postmarked by nov 1 (i am submitting it online today anyway)

thanks slowpepper! hopefully miracles can happen for the lower tiers.

Sorry for the unclear statement I made.

As long as you submit pharmcas app by Nov. 1 (Pharmcas should post the date) and then you also send your supplemental application (if through postal office, has to be postmarked before Nov. 1), then you are safe.

I don't think they look at the date when your GPA is calculated because that may take 3-5 weeks. They look at the date when you submitted your apps.

If you are sending your supplemental application via postal office, try to use priority mail.

Let me know if there is anything unclear. 😛

thanks that clears everything up. I'm a bit worried about not have a degree by spring, but there isn't much I can do at this point. I know the stats of getting in without a degree but I hope to get an interview if they will consider my extracurriculars i have done.

goodluck to everyone!

does anyone know when do they send out the interview invitation for tier 2? I submitted my suppl apps late august. Nervously waiting to see if a letter will come...

They have sent a few out already. I'm sure you'll hear from the school soon.

I want to ask those of you who went for an interview already.
For the writing sample, Are we supposed to hand right with pen? pencil? Or type on a computer

🙂 Thanks a lot. 🙂

I don't think it matters. I had a pencil handy, so I have the flexibility to correct grammar, sentence structure, and what not.

Thank you so much for the info.
I thought I heard from someone that we have to write in pen ( a few years ago), thank goodness thats not the case.

Good luck! 🙂

just curious, what kind of essay question do they ask during the interview?

Anyone interviewing on the 29th? :luck:

Congrats on your admission to Touro!!! I had my interview last week and won't be hearing back until a few weeks. I too have an interview at UOP on the 29th.. hope to see you there and good luck!!

Something simple that has no right or wrong answer.😉

O..haha~so it's an argument type of question? Is it pharmacy-related or is it just a general question similar to the SAT/GRE questions?

Those who have already interviewed, did they give a date in when they will give you a response?

Ty! I wish you the best of luck! See you on the 29th hopefully!

Letters are sent either the end of this week or next week. I've been having nightmares about this for the past 2 weeks....

Good luck to the people going to their interviews tomorrow!

Me too!!! I keep checking my e-mail over and over again. This application process is making me obsessive compulsive mess

Ditto. I'm training myself to be mentally prepared for either scenario. Gosh, this takes forever!

Same here. I checked my email like 10 times today lol.

I am already prepared either way.

Thanks! My interviewers were so nice! I'm really loving this school right now. I'm on a UOP high!

I thought that mine was great as well but then again, I don't want to get ahead of myself... I've always wanted to go here since early on my undergraduate days so a rejection will probably be a huge let down... Haha oh well just hoping for the best.

Thanks! I think the interview went well! 👍

Good stuff 👍. I thought my faculty was laid back and we felt more of a conversation to the point that he had to rush and answer some of the questions he was suppose to ask. I dunno if that's a good or bad thing..

I get what you're saying. There was never a dull moment in my interview. The conversation was fluid and because of my experience flying in, it made for a great discussion. We were laughing and everything so it was really laid back.

I've been looking through previous forums and last year acceptance emails were sent on Friday around 11:30am and the year before that it was 3:14pm

AHHHHH! interview in 5 days. Hopefully, it's as low stress as everyone says.

I'm also going on Nov. 5th. What was difficult about the writing, if I may ask?
